Superior Spiderman actually helped Peter in a lot of ways. Otto showed surprising empathy when he looked through Peter's memories and gave him advice on how to unlock his truest potential, and was humble enough to know when to step aside and let Peter get back in. Hell, he even set up a company for Peter. Otto really did a 180 and put his grievances aside. What a dude.

I think that’s the best option if you never played spider-man ps4. The dialogue Otto has at 19:24 is something I've wanted to hear for a while, especially if this was said to the Joker (not only Batman, but anyone even a regular person). At some point you can't just keep throwing the villain in jail knowing they'll eventually break out and kill more people. In order to prevent so many innocent people from dying, one villain death is a small price to pay

@Masked Guy -- Yeah... the story started strong, ended poorly. The concept was brilliant IMO, as we were able to see what someone WITH brains would actually do. We've never seen another superhero do what Doc Oct did but then making a city safe with a spider henchmen police crew, it only leads to one thing: no crime. If you have no crime then it only becomes natural for Spiderman to move to solve crimes in other cities. I want to say that the uprising of the Goblins was the easy route to close out the story. Which is ashame because I really like the idea of characters switching sides. I would've liked to see this play out for longer or for Doc Oct to find an alternative way to "live-on". Sure, he's in the mind of that Robot just now but it doesn't really feel the same, there's no real focus on his character or his evolution.

The reason your channel is great is exactly why i don't really read comics, but do read manga. The continuity in both Marvel and DC is just all over the place and overwhelming, though I do admit it's gotten better since the reboots of both. Manga's are just a linear story with arcs for segments of the story. I see the benefits and draw backs off both.

While I feel like one of the good things is to go through the entirety of the story, I feel like if I forget a lot of the details that has happened after taking a break, I'm hesitant to resume, also because I feel like I should re-read, but since I've already read so much of it am hesitant to do that as well. This is how I currently feel about Tower of God. Unlike The God of High School or Noblesse where everything that was important made a big impact on me and I retained. Although I've read the earlier chapters of The God of High School more than once, since it's my favorite manhwa.

I get that being a hero is about capturing bad guys without every needing to kill them, but how many innocent people must suffer and even die just to keep the heroes' conscience clean? This is one of the reason I can find anti-heroes (dark heroes) more relatable.

Except some of those 'repeat offenders' do end up becoming good guys or even saving the world(Harley, Emma and Killer Frost, Venom, Doom, Molecule Man-who's actually save the entire multiverse-are all some villains who had a aturn around). Hell, Superior Spiderman is literally about that, or at least him trying to anyway. So it's pretty hypocritical coming from Doctor Octopus, former leader of the Sinister Six. If you're talking about real life, then it depends on the crime. If your are a repeat offender of murder or rape, you likely wont get out after a certain time and spend your life in prison anyway. But there are repeat offenders of petty crimes, where the system keeps them in and it's just a constant cycle for them, not necessarily because they are irredeemable or want to commit crimes.

I think Carnage was more forced into helping at certain points or risk his symbiote dying. I'm not opposed to a death penalty for certain characters, I'm just opposed to superheroes deciding that on their own and carrying it out.

I think you glossed over a great character tidbit for Otto with the doctorate. It seemed to me it was less about elevating Peters status (since he believes he is gone forever) and more about his ego since he feels he would never live in a world where he is addressed with anything less than "Doctor". All the same, your videos are the best!

the only true downfall of Superior Spiderman was his own narcissism. after a while he thought he was untouchable, and soon after stopped caring about the citizens he protected. as much as I loved this story, it was damn fine commentary why Peter is so unique. but that isn't to say the story hasn't brought up some glaring issues he needs to work on. Also Otto demonstrated just how powerful Peter was and how much he needed to hold back. he freaking ripped scorpions jaw right off with one punch!

I actuelly enjoyed superior a lot, meny people hated the change to the character but to me it was more of the character of spider man living up to his potential, a scientist, a genius, a leader, a hard worker, etc. something that parker as spider man simply couldn't do because it was always in his nature to be overwhelmed, to use comedy to cover his failures, to fail to connect with anybody other then mj a women who always felt more deserving then an overwhelmed parker, to take everything on himself eventually leading to his own crushing loss. while I realize the journey up to today made him that way, it just never felt like what doc did with the character at its peak.

I agree. I actually liked the superior Spider-Man storyline and felt that it was a good change and a great push in the right direction. The only thing I wished would happen was that he got closer to MJ but given the situation it's probably for the best that it turned out the way it did. Still I'm hoping that Marvel will eventually relent and let Peter and MJ be married and have their happy little ending. At the very least the renew your vows Universe actually fixes everything that's wrong with Marvel currently

Gotta love the thought process of thinking the idea of mass surveillance on the populace is an upgrade.
