If Insomniac’s Wolverine game is released in the Fall of 2024, it will be released around the same time as Deadpool 3, which Ryan Reynolds revealed will have Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine for one last time (I also hope it brings back Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle and Karan Soni as Dopinder, and maybe Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beetz as Domino), and he might even finally wear the yellow-and-black or yellow-and-brown outfit with the mask. If Insomniac’s Wolverine game does well with the M-rating, which other Marvel character do you think Insomniac should make an M-rated game for? My top picks are Daredevil (maybe with Elektra as a playable character), then the Punisher, and Blade. Doctor Strange should have an M-rated game because some of his enemies are absolutely terrifying, and many of them are purely evil entities. When I asked this same question to u/Finn5507Reddit, he responded that he would want to see an M-rated WWII-era Captain America game, then I asked him if in addition to his aluminum heater shield and later his round Vibranium shield, if Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes would also be using Springfield M1903 bolt-action rifles, Springfield M1 Garand semi-auto rifles, Colt M1911 semi-auto pistols, Thompson submachine guns, and trench guns (WWII-era pump-action shotguns), and he responded, “Probably something like that.”

Additionally, if Insomniac were to make a Punisher game, and I were to collaborate on any part of the game, it would be the weapon customizations. I have enjoyed customizing and upgrading weapons in video games ever since I played Grand Theft Auto V in 2013. I also customize weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 4, Sniper Elite 5, and Zombie Army 4: Dead War among others. If a Punisher game gave the player the ability to customize their weapons and use them to violently kill bad guys who unequivocally deserve to die, I think it would be any gun nut’s wet dream. The loadout would include a rifle for long-range shooting, a submachine gun for medium-range shooting, and a pistol as a sidearm. Melee weapons would include either a Gerber Mark II knife, or a KA-BAR knife. Frank Castle would start out with an unmodified M16A4 (with standard iron sights, a standard 25-degree A2 pistol grip, a fixed stock, a Magpul MS3 Sling, 30-round magazines, and a muzzle flash hider), as the long-distance rifle (primary weapon), a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 submachine gun (secondary weapon), and a Colt M1911 (with standard iron sights, a standard 8-round magazine, and sound suppressor) as a sidearm. The player can go to David Lieberman AKA Microchip to switch out and/or customize Frank Castle’s guns. Weapon modifications would include: magnified optics, red dot sights, low-power variable optics, long-distance scopes, 15-degree pistol grips, retractable stocks, extended magazines, picatinny rails, M-LOK rails, rail attachments (including vertical foregrips, angled foregrips, handstops, flashlights, and bipods), different triggers and receivers, muzzle attachments (including muzzle flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and sound suppressors), and even an underslung M203 grenade launcher attachment. Alternate rifles would include the FN SCAR 20S 20” 7.62x51 precision rifle, the Barrett M82A1 20” or 29” .50 Caliber semi-auto rifle, the Barrett M107A1 20” or 29” .50 Caliber semi-auto rifle, the standard 16.25” 30-round 7.62x39 AKM, the Molot Vepr RPK 23.2” 30-round 7.62x39 AK-style rifle, the Springfield M1A 22” .308 Winchester semi-auto rifle, and the Steyr AUG 20” 30-round or 48-round 5.56 semi-auto rifle. This is the Insomniac I've known since I played Ratchet and Clank as a kid! The moment it was announced in 2016 that they would develop Marvel's Spider-Man, I knew that the game was in more than capable hands. Now with all the stuff they have made from Rift Apart to Marvel's Spider-Man 2, there is a reason that they are one of my top favourite gaming studios to date!

So hyped for Wolverine! They did Peter and Miles justice in their respective games so I know Insomniac will give the same loving treatment to Logan. I’d love for him to be able to wield weapons; from swords to firearms to truly show off Wolvie’s skill set the same way the do with Spidey’s gadgets. This guy is a long -lived soldier, black ops agent and samurai so let him have this extra layer of leveling combat. I also hope his heightened senses get incorporated and elements of his past including Weapon X testing and training. Hell, that could be a great start to the game as a tutorial! I’ll safely believe this one will be out in 2025. No need to rush it. I can’t even consider a sequel with X-Men characters! 😮

It’s actually not even just the Insomniac Marvel Universe anymore after you figure out in Iron Man VR that a certain reference to Oscorp in the game when you pass by it actually connects it to the Insomniac Spider-Man games. Considering how Jedi: Fallen Orders parkour and Jedi: Survivors new melee attacks with the dual combat could easily work for Daredevil, but also Respawn now have the ability to tell a much darker story with Jedi: Survivor, which also fits Daredevil exceptionally well.

I really hope they go a step further with the dismemberment and try implementing a mechanic similar to Blade mode from Metal Gear Rising. Allowing players to angle Logan’s attacks so he can cut off limbs to the same visceral extent he did to Deadpool’s arm in Hulk Vs Wolverine.

X2 Wolverine's revenge had its moments, then while the movie wasn't the best X-Men Origins Wolverine was a great game for it's time. I love that game so much and when we heard that Insomniac was making a new Wolverine game I immediately got excited but hoped it would be as raw as that game was. It seems as though it will be. That game got a LOT right and did it really well. The way Wolverine moved and the combat was done REALLY well in that game. The lunges with the claws out front to close gaps and the takedown moves all the way to his skin shredding or burning off as he got shot and burnt to reveal the adamantium skeleton underneath as you healed. I'm ready and really damn excited to now see what Insomniac does with this game and can't wait to finally see the game in action hopefully soon as a tease at least.

Insomniac has always been a very prolific developer. They pumped out banger and banger in the 2000s with the Ratchet and Series series. Unfortunately they used to crunch HARD back then. They don't crunch anymore and the fact that they don't and can still give us quality AAA titles in astounding.

To be fair even though they weren't officially owned until after they released Spider-Man, Insomniac has for the most part always been a PlayStation studio anyway. They only released one non Sony title which was Sunset Overdrive. Everything else has been pretty much Sony Exclusive. Sony just decided to make it official after the success of Spider-Man.

The main reason why they have been so efficient is unlike most of PlayStation's studios which have only one team/studio, Insomniac has two which is why they are able to work on more than one project at a time easily while keeping the quality up. Also most people who work at Insomniac have been there for a long time if not since they were formed so they understand the workflow and know their pears very well.

I know I’m late but to pick up on this comment just off of memory here goes. Episode 1 Maul is cut in half. Episode 2 Jango is decapitated by Mace, Anakin loses an arm to Dooku. Episode 3 Dooku loses both hands and is also decapitated by Anakin. Yoda decapitates a clone trooper. Anakin loses his other arm and both legs to Kenobi. Episode 4 Kenobi cuts the arm off the guy in the cantina. Episode 5 Luke cuts off the Wompa’s arm. Luke decapitates the vision in the cave. Luke loses his hand to Vader. Episode 6 Vader loses his hand to Luke. By my count and I could be missing some that’s 14 body parts cut off legitimately and 1 vision body part cut off by lightsabers in the first 6 movies

I honestly doubt wolverine is gonna come out next year, yeah it makes sense that Spiderman 2 would probably come out so close but the thing is that insomniac made the first game so that mean they're familiar with the character enough to the point where they'll know the what kind of mechanics to put in to the game to make it as fun as fluid or more so as possible but as for wolverine it would basically be stepping foot on brand new territory, if there's gonna be large open sections of the game then they have to figure out how traversal would work out and how wolverine will fight. I'm sure there will be plenty of people saying that "it's wolverine, it's not hard to figure out how to make combat fun" but really it kinda is because we as people like to see something new most of the time and if they just copy the combat from a game like xmen origins wolverine the game then its just not gonna make it unique or feel like they put a lot of thought and care to make sure we as consumers are entertained.

I disagree with you caboose. The Star Wars films have had a few lightsaber duels where a person got dismembered. episode 1 Darth Maul by Obi Wan Kenobi, episode 2 Anakin lost an arm to Count Dooku. and who could forget the classic scene in Empire Strikes Back when Darth Vader told Luke he was his father. Vader chopped off his hand. now that being said I so think people are to obsessed with whether or not dismemberment is in a game. I think Wolverine will be just as good with or without it.

Insomniac should make every super hero game wolvie is gonna be epic anything they touch turns to gold can’t believe they push out such quality in such a short time . I bet you can’t wait to play your Canadian super hero . I don’t want avengers I want spidey fallen order type of maps and gameplay
