Since diamond select prioritizes aesthetics over articulation, this is exactly what I’d expect from them. Looks great, but not a figure I care about. The problem with hasblow is they don’t prioritize anything. Everything they do is just meh. Ok aesthetics but sometimes bad, ok to poor articulation, crap accessories, and a high price tag to boot
@chewymew5 ай бұрын
Marvel Legends (in my area) are $24 and Selects go for $30, for only 6 dollars more, you get way more paint and sculpt, an assload of accessories, and usually brand new molds. The HasBros can't seem to get that. Even if, hypothetically, Hasbro's licensing agreement is the absolute worst and making toys is really such a burden on them, that is not our problem. The only thing important to us as consumers is what we choose to buy. We don't have to settle for Hasbro's mediocrity when there's better figures around the same price out there. That is Anthony's point
@brandofigure5 ай бұрын
The ML Blade is only $24 because of the Mindless One BAF parts. That Blade has accessories and a sword that fits in the sheath. Also, without the Mindless One BAF, ML Blade is basically only $20.

It's no wonder the rise of 3rd party; both licensed and unlicensed, has been occurring lately. Even in Marvel & DC's case, they're giving out the Marvel license to other companies to give us more options. Ofc, we have our imports in the form of Three-Zero, Sentinel, Bandai's SH Figuarts, Medicom MAFEX, and even Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi... How does marketing and advertising cost factor in the Hasbro vs Diamond select comparison ? Hasbro make lower quality figures, but maybe they have more marketing cost and also the demand. Many buyers don't see the flaws and don't care and are fanboys that shill-in. This happens to every other collector item, for example LEGO - people buy bad overpriced products, just because they need to buy a certain character.

LOL yep, I asked you to review this multiple times because I really like this figure. Blade is 6'2 so he's the same height as Captain America. He IS skinny compared to Cap. 215 lbs vs 240lbs. Yes, the guns connect together along with that stock/battery pack to form a 'mega gun'. I call it a battery pack because Blade's guns also shoot UV light to kill vampires and requires big power sources. Yes, the fig lacks articulation like other Marvel Select figures but the paint, sculpt, and tons of accessories more than makes up for it to me.

For me I'll get the Marvel Legends figure if it's a character that I'm a fan of. But if it's one of my favorite character I'm going with the select figure or I'll get a select figure of a character because of how good the figure is. Like I'm not a big juggernaut fan but the select figure was a must by for me. Because the size, sculpt and paint on the figure are legit. Also the weight of it compared to marvel legends is nuts due to the solid arms and legs. Also figures like him, hulk and others call legends pricing into question even more more. Because the sheer size and weight of them is something you don't see many non BAF figures get close to in legends. But for select they are standard for figures in the line.

I don't know that this has the POA as half of current Marvel legends since they've been using the vulcan and shriek bodies for most of the current figures, definitely some of them, but thats almost besides the point even. I would rather have a figure that looks this and that someone actually put effort into than a couple dozen lazy repaints. I definitely think it's an issue with the design team at Marvel legends specifically, and it just boils down to laziness and greed. If you look at the GI Joe line Hasbro is clearly capable of making solid figures, and if licensing was an issue (which its not to the extent anyone says it is) they can cut the accessory account in half compared to the GI Joe line and it would still be twice as many accessories as Marvel Legends currently have. Hell, even though they have their own issues, they can cut a half dozen new molds for every new Black Series wave that comes out, and there would definitely have to be licensing involved with that from Disney and Lucas films.

Then, if you hit up the web for presales, they're almost always sold out! I just don't understand it, unless there's only a handful of each figure available from a particular retailer at that time. The real problem is the *quantity* of the ML line. They make SO MANY figures which makes it by necessity rely on constant reuse, fewer accessories or paint apps with each figure etc. Marvel Select puts out way fewer figures so they’re able to dedicate a lot more to each release. The question is do ML collectors want fewer releases each year in exchange for better quality? I don't think the reason for quality different from Hasbro to Diamond select is the licensing. That's obviously not a justification doe.

I HOPE DST DO AN UPDATED GHOST RIDER AND WOLVERINE

I think they are doing a ghost rider but from the pictures I’ve seen, it doesn’t look that great

A ton of accessories, wonderful scultpwork and paintwork, that alone makes the figure worth it. Such a shame the articulation is still subpar, these arms are so freaking limited and that knee joint is very ugly when not in a neutral pose. I'm sorry to say, even if I didn't have my Toybiz Wesley Blade which I love very much, I don't think I would've bought either the Marvel Legends or the Select one.

articulation sucks! he can't raise his arms sideways at all and no double joints ... this action figure looks nice but articulation is important , otherwise go buy a statue ... 7/10 IMO

Agreed. Articulation is a big factor and that brings this figure way down.
