Funnily enough, Thing is supposed to be only 6 feet tall or even 5'11. So the movie got him spot on. But everyone expects The Thing to be massive for some reason.

Thanks for this review - I gotta say that I really like this figure! Granted, he does not have the articulation one might like, but many of this line seem to made more posing. They look great in my glass cabinet! Great job on these videos, comparing the various versions. Still, I think this version is pretty cool!

The Thing had pants and boots as his first uniform [FF#3] and even a helmet (which returned for a brief time in the early 90's when Wolvie slashed his face). He didn't like them so he went back to his trunks.

I think this figure is great from the waist up, I just wish they would have made him like the classic thing with his legs and feet bare, would have been a 10 but the legs with those black boots are silly, first off he is rock but has regular human muscle definition on his legs, I never bought this figure because of that also the head is too small for the body but the arms and torso are tremendous.

mcniven is one of my favorite artists in comics. yeah diamond select toys are doin a great job. all those selects look really neat. lookin forward to the juggernaut! the sad thing about big figs is that the shipping is expensive.

Thing's head fists are (or at least used to be, not sure about current comics) generally drawn as being 3 or 4 times larger than his head

that's one big Thing :P nice head sculpt and paint job, but i like the body of the series 2 Thing, it have bit more Kirby feel? Selects figures articulation is getting a lot better, got the first appearance Sabertooth.

When I first seen those 2 crappy Fantastic Four movies with a man in a tiny Thing rubber suit I was really pissed off. So, when I see a doll like this that may be over sized a bit I still think it's totally cool and the way The Thing SHOULD look! Love the huge arms and hands and the little head looks kind of funny but makes the body look even bigger. Wife is picking this up for me as I type this AND snagging the Hulk doll as well. Will look good on my desk in a fighting pose but I'll still keep the boxes tucked away in my closet.

A lot better than CGI and pretty good for a practical effect. Just could have been bigger but comics do not always translate to real life or movies well without CGI. Moving in one that small was hard enough and very hot.

The head sculpt looks amazing. I do agree with you with about the size of the hands, and how stupid it is that you can't straight his arms. Btw, did you know that that artist u were talking about went to college for sculpting and doing pieces of art with metal? That dude never drew until he had a few years out of college, and used to live on the second floor of a comic book shop. That's how he got into drawing, and his wife pretty much pushed him into getting a comic artist career.

Your review is much better than JTrain's =x Relieved to know that Hulk is taller than Thing, since he looked massive. And XD at that arm comparison. I like the rock detailing (especially since it's a mix of larger and smaller segments), but the overall body just doesn't seem to look great. Still looking forward to Juggernaut and possibly Abomination, though.

well in my opinion watching different series, the hulk has always been a little taller but the thing has more thickness to him being a little stockier. i love the figure and picked it up, i also have the ml/mu thing and compared to ms hulk their way to small. hes the fucking thing who battles the hulk of coarse hes a big oversized beast

i agree hulk should be bigger than almost all characters along with abom n thing/ red hulk, but what about venom? if u see the thunderbolts first tpb its like the more pissed he gets he gets huger like the hulk. n this venom was fucking huge. do u think venom should be alot more taller n beefier than most figs that came out. i meen i think the transforming venom sc was a decent size, but i dunno i dont own all the venoms so i can't really say i know. let me know shart- dirtnap
