Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping a brand-new teaser trailer and poster today for “Hawkeye,” a new series set in post-blip New York City. Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye was small scaled and grounded, this is why I liked it. Not every show can be full explosions, easter eggs and surprises. Hailee Steinfeld was excellent as Kate Bishop, very accurate portrayal from the comics and the chemistry between both of them was very refreshing.

Well, he's a human who can shot really well who had to deal with a daddy issues 1500 old Norse demi-god, a sentient robot, a powerful witch, a fast guy, got in a fight with his colleagues when a big purple guy with magic stones (that sound like a magical girl) killed his whole family, who then came back (except Natasha), I think he deserves a good Christmas day.

I enjoyed this series so much. It was fun ride but also emotional. I think I cried two or three times 😂. It wasn't even remotely boring for me. The show gave me Christmas vibe bc it's fun, sometimes dramatic and about family (by blood and found one). Elena is good addition to the family theme bc she is Natasha's sisters and Natasha thought about Clint as a family. Duo Kate and Clint is lovely. They have a lot of potential to work together and being friends-family. I also liked the antivillian echo. The final was pretty great even tho I have small issue with it. I guess I'm ready to rewatch the show right away.

What excites me the most is just how different each Disney Plus show has been so far! Each one is completely unique. WandaVision recreated iconic sitcoms as a detailed allegory for grief, Falcon and The Winter Soldier provided a realistic portrayal of trauma combined with a sense of moral ambiguity, Loki was an sci-fi-styled epic with cosmic consequences, and now this!

Falcon and Winter Soldier wasn't a realistic portrayal of anything, imo. Bucky, who spent half a century as a brainwashed assassin is out there having buddy cop one liners, and (this one annoys me) has absolutely no problems in social situations etc. Then, these two insanely well trained military men give up their positions constantly because of arguing whilst right under enemy noses. Makes no sense, and for me made it a hard watch.

Something I really like about the tone set in this trailer is that the whole “We’re in a chaotic firefight but I can still be calm enough to make jokes sometimes” bit really suits Hawkeye organically. He’s seen so much combat, most of which has placed him as the underdog with an outdated form of weaponry that he manages to save himself with. Clint being jaded but having fun with it makes me so happy. Edit: Before yet another “so basically EVERY MCU character >:0” comment, yes. The MCU is fun and has jokes, and isn’t hellbent on realism. These are fun movies with dense lore, that’s it. Serious gritty no fun movies that take absolutely no detours from the comics aren’t as sure fire a way to make money as the MCU’s approach, and they manage to still make the films incredibly enjoyable. Have some fun!

It needs a thorough explaining of where he's getting all of these arrows from. Is it all Stark tech? Has he been stealing a bit of everything from criminals? What things has he done to get those arrows in the time-skip? Why the Christmas theme? Do elves make them? Do elves make some that are super dangerous that he's just not used until now? Do elves smuggle WMD arrows to Clint to help mass-judge the naughty? I'm pretty sure Santa is MC canon at least, but this would be a really terrible way to make him MCU canon.

Coming back to this trailer after seeing Hawkeye and I gotta say I can't get enough of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop!!! 😄😆😄😄💜💜💜🏹🎯 I loved how it was more small scale in comparison to everything else and was set in the Christmas season, especially after the multiverse-shattering events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Clint got more time than he ever did as part of the Avengers, he is at his most best with his family and a partner like Kate. Also loved Echo's story, the complicated family dynamic between Kate and her mother Eleanor, the grand introduction of Kingpin from Daredevil, and Yelena's fine scenes with Kate and Clint. I hope we get a second season, with Kate as the front and center Hawkeye and being a private investigator like in the comics.
