This is gorgeously edited. It makes me upset they made Thor's depression into a joke in Endgame. This guy lost all his immediate family and many good friends, and when he thought he had nothing more to lose and no chance at failure he lost the only family he had left. He blamed himself for the deaths of half of all life in the universe because when the time came to do Thanos in the _obvious_ answer would've been to go for the head, but he just *needed* that last chance to gloat over Thanos and make certain he knew at whose hand vengeance had come; vengeance for Loki, vengeance for Heimdall, vengeance for his people. That one little mistake cost untold myriads of lives. It wouldn't have turned out the way it did if he'd only altered his aim by a little bit. And that killed him inside. And then a talking raccoon smacked him in the face and told him to stop being a cry baby and it was played for laughs. Don't get me wrong, I loved Endgame. But that part was awful, imo.
@IliaTS4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And 100% agreed. He was made a joke and the worst part is that the jokes weren't even that great. Still, a phenomenal movie.❤️

That was the intention of the director, to de-mascualate a known God of War. He said so himself. And then put a person not of Royal Blood on the Throne ended my run on Marvel movies. I miss Thor Odinson. The End Game was the grand finale for me. I can't wait for the Mandolorian season 2 now.

I miss this Thor. After watching Love and Thunder I had to come back and watch his journey, growth. Because it seems they completely forgot about that. Now all they seem to care about is making him the joke.

Great edit. This makes me realize Thor's had it so rough. Unfairly so... He went through hell so many times, and lost every member of his family, his eye and his Asgard. Then he spent 5 years loathing himself, totally broken, which I'm afraid has put permanent damage to him mentally. I really hope Thor experiences real Happiness soon and gets treated really well in Thor 4 or 5. Steve got his happily ever after with Peggy, Stark was happy for 5 years with Pepper and their daughter before he died saving the universe, most of the others either got back all they lost or didn't lose enough to cripple them. But Thor... it's just too much. Breaks my heart thinking about it. As one of my favorite characters, I hope he gets everything he deserves!

I think out of everyone, Thor had the best character development, shame a lot of it was played down in endgame making him a bit jokey even though he was going through some next level depression
@brooke37214 жыл бұрын
although endgame joked about his depression quite a lot, it was still such an important thing to have in the movie. the fact that they showed that thor was still worthy, even when he was going through a depression, was extremely powerful.

I loved it! Amazing vid! Thor's best arc was Endgame imo. It wasn't about redeeming his failures but accepting it. His arc of becoming a king culminated with Ragnarok but then started his string of failures. In Endgame he realised that failures and depression don't make you unworthy. And he abandoned bloodline monarchy and instead of trailing the destined king footsteps, he decided to just be who he is - an adventurer at heart.

This video is great and a job well done. I just wish folks would have seen that "bro Thor" was not a running joke in Endgame and see the story behind it where there was more than the "depression" arc to it. Thor's journey, from the first movie, to Endgame, was about Thor doing everything in his power not to become Odin, but in the end, he did become just like his father. Every movie was about him learning a lesson. From having his powers stripped and understanding it requires more than extraordinary powers to be brave and humble. To understand that he does not fight for himself, but the ones who cannot fight. He had to learn loss and love with his mother and Jane in the 2nd movie and believing in his strength that he can rise to the task to stop a force he has not seen before. Even when his own doubted his abilities in doing so. He had to learn that it was not the tools that made him special, but believing in himself to harness his strength with the 3rd movie. He had to learn despair and uncertainty when it came to Infinity War. He had to push himself harder than the abyss asked him too. Lastly, in Endgame... Much like how master a swordssmiths crafts samurai swords. When being forged, they had to break down the steel multiple times. Re-breaking it, hammering it, and forging it into force that will not shattered when pulled. His depression was just destiny breaking and re-forging the man that is needed, and not what he was. Odin learned the hard way too with his past mistakes and only a great King can learn from his failures and be the power to defend and stand up to ultimate evils. The circle was complete by Endgame with Thor being everything he could be, understanding what was needed, and he even looked like Odin by the time his story arc completed. This is why "Bro Thor" is more powerful than "Buff Thor", only a true hero knows he can be broken and still stands up to fight what broke him before, as "Buff Thor" only acted out in rage. A true King fights for the people and not for his own personal losses.

As a fellow creator, I know how hard it can be to create something that lives up to your own expectations, but trust me when I say that you have far exceeded them.
