This theme is crafted very well, I’ll say that. It’s quick and high tempo, matching X-23’s speed, but it still isn’t upbeat; the lyrics are obvious, but the overall tone of the song is dramatic and the synth chord melody is filled with intrigue and darkness, but also a string of hopefulness. The composer understood the character very well.

Definitely agreed, I’m glad X-23 was at least in MvC3 though. Infinite completely took out the X-Men and Fantastic 4 like you said, so that sucked for me. Morrigan, Zero & Ryu were the only of my main team/characters that made it into MVCI from Ultimate and Fate of two worlds. At least I still have MvC3 to play, I try to pretend Infinite was never a thing 🤷‍♀️

Disney had final say in the roster and they only wanted characters who were in the movies. It was also during the time before they bought Fox so they were trying to eliminate the x-men to hurt the brand as much as possible.

@@mbern4530 If Capcom ever does a sequel, an MvC4 of sorts, they shouldn't have to consult Disney on a roster given how egregious the limitations were & how small the roster turned out; MvC at its purest should remain as a celebration of both icons. They should also bring back the cell shading, it looked a hell of a lot better than whatever Infinite's visual style was aiming for.

X-23 making it into Ultimate Alliance 3 would make me so freaking happy. I mean, come on! She could be a quicker and more agile version of Wolverine (she doesn't have his raw muscle, but she doesn't really need it, all she really needs is one opening to hit a vital point and you're done), and she has a ton of potentially fun interplay with other Marvel characters, particularly with the likes of Wolverine, Deadpool, Gambit (if he's also in), Captain America (since Cap fought with Logan in WW II, since Logan was part of the Howling Commandos, under the nickname "Lucky Logan", so Cap could have interactions with her like she were the daughter of his old war buddy, which she technically is), Spidey, Miles Morales, Venom (there's at least one comic where she even ends up bonding with the Venom symbiote!), Gwenpool, Magneto, etc. She could very easily get team bonuses with the X-Men, Weapon X, X-Force, Young Avengers, etc. I could even see how she could be introduced. Make her a boss at first (due to her having been somehow exposed to her trigger scent), and then after you've beaten her, Wolverine is able to convince her to join your team very easily.

Everything about X-23/Laura in this game astonishes me, especially in hindsight. Not only was she less than 10 years old when Capcom campaigned for her inclusion, her debut wasn't even in a comic. On that note, MvC3 is such a rarity in comic book games, being an HD era game with 3d models faithfully recreating the most recent designs directly from the comics. Laura was a new, albeit not very popular character from the least talked about X-Men cartoon (second only to the Pryde of the X-Men pilot) who only recently debuted in the comics when her in-game developers were lobbying hard for her inclusion.

This gal here. I remember when i first saw her in X men evolution and i said she's pretty interesting, and when i read her comic series that was it. I was hooked, those douche's put her through so much being used as nothing but a weapon. I've read through most of her other comics wich lead me to the new X men leading up to likeing more characters. Now she's in this game, from non cannon to cannon to growing a fanbase, ill always remember your roots laura.
