Yoooooo. They finally did it!! They brought back all of the classic Marvel vs Capcom style fighting games. These games to me laid out the blueprint for the cross fighting games today. No official release date but it's coming this year!!

People definitely care about the artwork. The entire VS series from xmen COTA to Mvc2 has arguably the greatest artwork ever made for an entertainment product (games, movies, comics, etc). You gotta understand that one week ago, we thought these games were dead forever, along with all the art/documentation of the game. Now, for the first time EVER, the artwork is being released in its full, original quality as well as SEEMINGLY new artwork/concept art that we didnt even know existed and quite literally would have been lost to time forever.

@@arkitekmrj Yeah the characters were obviously a big part of why you'd want to beat the game but the ending artworks especially in mvc2 were pretty important to people. Luckily in this collection it looks like all the characters and artwork is unlocked right at the start

I read somewhere that Capcom has quit maintaining the Xbox version of MT Engine that MvC2 is built on. Capcom also has no native PS5 version of the MT Engine, but has a currently-maintained version for the PS4. PS5 uses the PS4 backwards compatibility mode. By the way, Capcom’s own trailer lists the PS4, Steam, and Switch versions, so it has been revealed. There will be no cross-play between the platforms.

not being able to tag characters out in Marvel Vs Capcom for PS1 wasn't a bug. The PS1 just wasn't strong enough to handle all those sprites at once so Capcom had to nerf the PS1 version. The Sega Saturn version of X Men Vs Street fighter had to have an extended ram cartridge just to run properly without it being downgraded like the PS1 version

Wow! I always wondered why we couldn’t tag out on PS1. I would’ve just released it on PS2 cuz I know that system was strong enough. Dreamcast MVC 2 was a blessing.

@@arkitekmrj yea but the PS2 and Dreamcast were released in a different era where consoles had finally become as strong as arcade machines. The PS1, Nintendo 64, and Sega Saturn would have melted trying to run MVC2 😂

For all the XBox people: Don't sit there and get mad (yet). Since this is still just getting announced, there is still a chance that it can come out to XBox. Microsoft still has until Capcom announce the release date to get in on the fun. So just sit back, relax, and don't be like "Microsoft has to get it together" because maybe they are and you just don't know it. Right now, I'm pretty sure this announcement was just to see how much interest this will spark.

​@@arkitekmrjWhen I visited a cinema theater in greenspoint it was General Cinema. I remember seeing Super Street Fighter II Turbo there. Akuma debuted in that game with the SF martial arts fighters. My first time seeing X- MEN vs. Street Fighter was at Celebration Station around 1996. I was excited and blown away and went to play the game. I loved it and beat it. Seeing the characters swap in and out of the game was cool. The super combo beam attacks Ryu, Ken and Akuma did in the game was fun.

AMC 6 at greenspoint. I think I visited that theater in greens point and remember playing X- Men: Children Of The Atom there. You can play as Akuma in the console version of this game if you remember that. Akuma was crossing over from the Street Fighter universe to the X- Men universe along with his SF veteran allies and enemies. Charlie, Chun- Li, Cammy, Ryu, Ken, Dhalsim and M. Bison.

Ronin. I remember tilt very well. They had all kinds of video games in that arcade room. Before " Tilt" at greens point my man they had " Aladdin's Castle" with cool video games inside of the game room. I think they had Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2. Michael Jackson's MoonWalker was in there, NBA JAM and so on. Man those were the days.

@@arkitekmrj I have it on all consoles PS2 original Xbox Dreamcast PS3 Xbox 360 I knew it was going to be released on PS4 but I didn’t ever guess it wouldn’t go on Xbox series X and go on Nintendo Switch instead the weakest console but when Nintendo was more powerful then PlayStation the PSX when we needed Nintendo 64 the most capcom wouldn’t release X-men Vs street fighter marvel super heroes Vs street fighter on the Nintendo 64 I had to buy the Japanese version for the Sega Saturn after all these years I never saw Nintendo get a marvel Vs capcom release they ignored marvel Vs capcom 3 that went on PS3 Xbox 360 and Xbox one PS4 since I own the marvel Vs capcom 2 arcade 1 up that gives the arcade rom I can wait I’m not in a hurry

Marvel vs Capcom was eeeh on ps1. You couldn’t tag out. It was better on Sega Dreamcast where you could actually tag out.

@arkitekmrj you could tag out in crossover. but the main reason mvc1 is at least better than the arcade version is that a lot of infinite combos don't work, levelling the playing field. there's round, time, health options. and you can turn on unlimited super metre, and adjust the health recovery. the same with marvel vs street fighter and x men vs street fighter.
