4 characters that should've been in the game: Asura - The only guy who rivals the Hulk when it comes to rage and anger. Not to mention that he defeated Evil Ryu and fought ONI AKUMA to a standstill (They also destroyed the moon in the process) Daredevil - Just so he can team up with She Hulk Phoenix Wright for an all-lawyer team! Megaman - C'mon, he deserved to be in it from the start. Squirrel Girl - She single-handedly beat MODOK and Dr. Doom. Nuff said.

@TomboTime I think the reason they can't decide is because DC is darker, Marvel is more...colorfull, and they both already paired up with different franchises. If they had done MvDC first, there would be confusion for what to do with the other games.

I love how all the top comments are negative. It just goes to show how little people appreciate quality game-making anymore. From what I understand UMvC3 is just a cash grab despite Improved Netcode,matchmaking system,12 of the MOST requested BRAND new characters, 8 BRAND new stages, BRAND new modes, a huge multitude of character updates, and other than that a heavily improved GUI. If people still fail to see logic, their grasp on this industry is honestly beyond anyones help.

@TomboTime The writers and artists of both companies are friends with each other. Many Marvel guys are fans of the stuff DC puts out and vice-versa. The unfriendliness in their rivalry usually comes from their corporate bosses, but not from the people actually making the books.

I still laugh at people flaming this game. They forget: Making games, add-ons, DLC, Costume Packs...it all costs money. If Capcom really WAS money hungry, they wouldn't be giving us all of these new things, but keep things the way they are. At least WE ARE getting a new version of MvC3 rather than getting nothing at all. A lot of people make damn good points to support this game, and to be honest, all these haters are just sad. Go play CoD or Madden or something. Don't forget to buy THEIR DLC!!

i think the major reason why Marvel vs DC can't happen is because they wouldn't really know what kind of fighting game style it would be. when facing capcom, marvel knows it can be like street fighter and other capcom fighters and when facing MK, DC knows that the fighting style will be MK style. however, when two COMIC BOOK universes collide, how exactly would they fight?

people need to put in prespective how fast the original was made, fans demanded it and they wanted it as soon as possible, capcom made it in under a year and it had a great roster, course people who dont want new characters and demand megaman and venom will disagree, but with twelve new chacracters more stages modes plus everything in the game before i say its worth 40 dollars, put things in prespective.

@KoticNdeavor MARVEL did for Rocket Raccoon. People wanted Cable, CapCom AND MARVEL didn't though, so they give us Rocket Raccoon (and Chris.) Firebrand is another of the lesser known characters who fills the void left by the Nerfs to Wesker and Wolverine. Things people wanted, they just don't like it because it isn't Megaman or an X-Men character.

Been seeing in these they have been having Dr. Strange faceing Morrigan Aensland; definetly a better fit than Iron-man vs Morrigan. Over powered magic vs over powered magic is better in my opinion. If this was done as a comic rather than a game and could use the whole unverse of each I'd have Iron-man face off against Dr. Wiley.

@jay543210 well heres another problem. 12 new characters was not enough. The new roster was supposed to have 58 characters so that Gene and Megaman X and all those other chracters could get in. They cut characters out of this game again and now we have to pay for 8 more characters as DLC. its not really $40, technically its $40 Plus future characters which really sucks :( To be honest this original game needed to be redone before the february release. They rushed the first one.

@jay543210 Doesnt matter. I bought Super Street Fighter IV Arcade edition. I didnt need to buy the new disc because i could just download it. Besides this MVC3, is a balanced. Whatever problems Megaman and Venom had in MVC2, can be fixed here. In this new game Sentinel is nerfed and the Strider/Doom crap combo wont exist. Super Street Fighter 2 came out with 6 versions only because there were no downloads or patches back then.

@Biffenstein1 It has 12 new characters, some new stages (they are actually rehashed versions but they do look different enough from the original stages) balance changes (like characters nerfs and buffs) and some changes to the overall game engine. the online netcode is supposed to be better to but idk much about that. personally, Im gonna trade my original mvc3 at best buy for 15 bucks or whatever its worth and that way i get UMVC3 for around $20-$30

@TomboTime The fighting style will depend on who makes the game. Sure, Marvel has a good relationship with Capcom and DC gets their games through Warner, but the only thing that needs to happen is for them to sit down together and agree to make a game in good faith. If they agree that it's Capcom's show, then expect DC characters to fight as you see in Capcom's Marvel games. The probably will apply if Warner games does it. Even though they compete, Marvel and DC respect each other a lot.
