Josephoartigasia is cute but terrifying Ophthalmosaurus is not a dolphin it is An ichthyosaur a aquatic reptile Arandaspis and sacabambaspis look like that because they are jawless fish they don't have jaws which makes them funny and cute

I return, with more knowledge on these extinct creatures Anomalocaris, appearing in the Cambrian, despite being quite small it was the world's first apex predator Arandaspis, a fish only being beaten out in derpiness by its relative sacabambaspis Dodo, believe it or not the closest living relative to the dodo is pigeons, unlike their island cousins however pigeons have found success around humans rather than dodos finding extinction Elephant bird, the largest bird to ever exist which is interesting as one of its living relatives is the kiwi Josephoartigasia, (Accidentally) following up the largest bird with the largest rodent, josephoartigasia was an extremely large species of capybara Hallucigenia, Yes, it was no mistake or coincidence, it is named after the fact it looks like nature's drug trip. Surprisingly enough it has relatives today! It is theorized its closest living relatives are the velvet worm and tardigrade. Btw with the face it was actually figured out which end was which so the face placement here isn't random Pikaia, pikaia is important as it may have been the first vertebrate to ever evolve Ophthalmosaurus, not a dolphin, an ichthyosaur meaning it was a reptile, but NOT a dinosaur Sacabambaspis, as depry as it seems it the face here isn't too far off Stellar's sea cow, an incredibly large sirenian (Manatees and dugongs) they would've stayed near the surface as their main food was a species of kelp that grew close to the surface Trilobite, the diversity of these things is actually insane, there were your small ones, spiky ones, ones that rolled up like armadillos, and the biggest one Isotelus Rex Tasmanian tiger, better known as the thylacine, they were large predatory marsupials native to Tasmania, they were hunted to extinction because it was thought they were hunting livestock (They probably weren't even strong enough to kill a sheep and they were "reported" killing more sheep than there were even on the island in the first place) The last one would die in a zoo after being locked out of its shelter where it froze in the winter cold.
