If you are still skeptic about this channel or Marvelous Quran, I found that this video is able to help explain (at least to me) why we should be grateful that it exists and why it is trying to make us focused on trying to have a better understanding of the Qur'an (which is more authoritative above everything else). If we then want to have an opportunity to correct our understanding and perceptions on the prescribed "ad-Deen", before we passed on, this video has also something to offer (by providing some factual historical and background information) so that we have the time, during the balance of our lives to take the necessary actions or adjustments to ensure we are on the right path - if we are interested in finding the right path. Jazakallahu Khairan Dr Hany for the timely presentation that I'm sure may cause an existential crisis to some.

We love your clear thinking Dr Hany! We agree, NO ONE should be above critique. If you critique the traditionalist please note how they react. Is this the conduct befittting of a muslim? Telling everyone else they are kuffar if they think differently from them and their "scholars" I really don't care for the thinking of those Islamic KZbin celebrities who constantly promote their scholars and madrassahs anymore. I have long graduated from the youtube stars who became emboldened from their religious debates with christians and somehow became authorities in Islam telling people who is in the club and who isn't, or the Mufti/sheikhs sitting on plush carpets, travelling the world vlogging, all the while dishing out useless softball lectures to unthinking masses who like to waste time sitting around. Salaamun 3alaikum, once in a conversation with a person I refused to say 'radiallahu anhu' when I mentioned the names of Mu'awiyah and Amr Ibnul Aas. According to him and millions of other 'forefather worshippers', even Abu Sufyan should be remembered with respect and should be considered as a companion! the very person after supposed claim of 'accepting Islam' rejoiced in the apparent losing position of the Muslim army at the battle of Hunayn said "At last the spell of Muhammad is not working". Whatever we know about them is from imperfect sources but what Qur'an tells about the early generation is clear and all about not revering anyone blindly.

I once asked a religious teacher why would we praise and consider Muawiyah as a companion of Muhammad SAWS after we knew that he supported the killing of Ali and Hussein. Brother, degradation of any predecessor should not be a purpose here...One thing we misunderstood them and considered them to be Angels or Aliens, nay they were humans like us, we do good things, but we also do bad things and lives go on...same things are with Sahaba... Be it Muawiya or Sufiyan or Amr ibn Al Aas, history was never preserved, their rivals projected them in one way and their fans projected them in another way....what to believe...!!! Even books of Ahadith are abundant with errors and mistakes.... contradicting the Quran... It is not our responsibility to rank them, nor was we asked to follow them, nor Allah will ask you about your views regarding them, they will be questioned based on their deeds and we will be asked about our nafs.... Salaam brother Hani, I usually don't listen to this channel much, and respectfully disagree with many of your views. However, I enjoyed this presentation. You said, "Not all of those who was with the prophet were angels". Alhamdulillah, that had to be said! And hopefully the fallacy of the so-called "pious predecessors" will be made evident to those who follow 'Sunni' Islam. And when your viewers criticize you saying, "You are throwing our scholars under the bus". The fact of the matter is, it was their Scholars who threw nabi Muhammad (A.S) under the bus with their garbage which they attributed to him! Imam Shafi intentionally distorted several verses of the Qur'an like the one you mentioned (4:115) to push his agenda. He also distorted the word "Hikmah" to mean prophet Muhammad's Sunnah. Where in the Qur'an does it say Hikmah = Sunnah?? Shafi also claimed that the Qur'an must be interpreted in light of traditions (hadeeth), and NOT vice versa! So, we cannot filter out hadeeth using the Quran! What kind of madness is this?? Furthermore, you made an excellent observation regarding Abu Bakr and Umar burning the so-called prophetic traditions. If the 'sayings' of the prophet were so important, then why would they burn them?? And didn't anyone before Umar ibn Abdul Aziz (100 years after the prophet's death) not acknowledge the significance of the prophetic Sunnah?? They resort to mental gymnastics by claiming that they transmitted the Sunnah orally. Yeah, right! You can clearly see how Scholars have abandoned the Qur'an and replaced it with Sunnah! Imam Al-Awza'i said: "The Book (Quran) is more in need of the Sunnah, than the Sunnah is in need of the Book (Quran)" It is no wonder that the Messenger Muhammad (A.S) on the Day of Judement will say: "My Lord, my people have ABANDONED this Quran" {25:30} The TRUE 'Sunnah' (practice) or 'Sabeeli' (way) of prophet Muhammad was the Qur'an ALONE!! He did not go around calling people to the Qur'an and his Sunnah! He only called them to what Allah revealed (sent down / inspired) to him. Peace, Nej

Alhamdulillah. Be assured, that it is not out of any self interest that I observe that this channel has a relatively small subscription base of 44.7k,(but steadily growing), especially after 5yrs or so, of such in-depth privileged Qur'anic knowledge on KZbin, compared to mundane "Salafists" oriented channels. Rather it is one of great concern or perhaps indicative of how entrenched the propagators of the "books of tafseer", have befuddled the broader Muslim psyche, yet I hasten to add that numbers or 'group think mentality' doesn't really beguile me, per se. The MQ channel, is not given its due recognition as being the only channel that has made a significant attempt to bring the hidden linguistic gems of the text of Qur'an to light. Hence the reason why I think that many more should have access to.The clarity of delivery alone is very succinct, and hopefully many, many more should have privy to this privileged level of understanding especially about the vibrancy of the Living Qur'anic text.
