they never sold a physical copy of definitive edition, only deluxe and standard but if you buy the standard physical copy its downloads all the dlc for free it basically upgrades it to definitive edition thats what I did bought the standard edition disc cheap and got all the extras free from store. Well worth it

Does this still require the day one offline patch or does the offline patch just come with the game now?

It requires the latest update if say you bought the standard edition, it will auto upgrade you to the Definitive Edition and give you everything all outfits, characters, DLC for free… My understanding is they did this because they shutdown the online servers but its totally still playable offline . Wish more companies did this when they shutdown a games online servers would be awesome.

Did it not work for you? Just to be clear the game is not free all the additional content released after its release is free since they shutdown the online servers for the game. So not sure what you think is a lie lol Its even posted in Microsoft store as such and is why the game is now listed as “Definitive Edition” instead of standard or regular this is the quote from the store … “The Definitive Edition includes over 400 classic, fan-favorite, and all-new original outfits inspired by over 80 years of Marvel history to customize these iconic Heroes. The Definitive Edition includes all released DLC missions and heroes.” So your wrong.
