The reason we think she is older is that the twins were super young when they were "it". They then disappeared from the limelight and then all of a sudden we see Elizabeth come to the fore as an Actress in her own right who by the time Age of Ultron came out was 26. My point being that Mary and Ashley were younger than what Elizabeth is here when they became famous and were known worldwide.
