Marvin Blakeman, a WW2 veteran, tells us some of his experiences while he was in the army. As a part of the 83rd Infantry Division (otherwise known as the Thunderbolt Division), he tells us of what he experienced, saw, and heard while serving our country throughout Europe. He also tells of some of his thoughts and wisdom about his experiences, history, and current events. Marvin Blakeman has experienced unbelievable things and has even more to tell us outside of this video. The purpose of this video is to inform you, as the audience, of what war is like, why education and knowing history matters, and making Marvin's story known. Marvin wants to tell you his story and let you know the stories of the men he served with, and how they gave the ultimate sacrifice. Marvin saved many peoples' lives, and experienced some amazing, suspenseful, near-death, and awful things, which makes him an American hero.

D-Day was the breaking point into Europe. And it was guarded with MG42's and hedgehogs all over the place. Marvin Blakeman stormed the beach with everyone else under MG fire, an amazing feat.
