So glad they extended this, I can feel the pain and angst in his voice, he was so authentic and righteous, seems his personal demons were a big part of his later work. Personally I understand this kind of pain but nonetheless he had a beautiful voice and impacted a whole lot of people. RIP

If you're actually looking for modern soulful stuff (and not just complaining to complain) check out Michael Kiwanuka's Love & Hate, Jungle's Volcano, Paolo Nutini's Caustic Love, and the Black Pumas' debut album. Just because it isn't on the top charts doesn't mean people aren't making incredible music.

Yes, a pure musician who transcended genre. The rapidly alternating piano chords of the introduction, to my ear, show the influence of Stravinsky. Petrushka (Petrouchka), I think.

Rest in peace Marvin Gaye. 🙏 Only he could sing this. The 🎶 🎵 music the kids listen to today can't be compared to good Ole Rock n'Roll from the 70's and 80's. Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Dramatics etc. Great soul musicians And Rock n'Roll lives on forever!

The Billboard Hot 100 was always a drag, most of it not so good. That hasn't changed. But for a brief moment in the late Sixties and early Seventies, recording artists took creative control of their output and the result was a Golden Age of music.

Their AI is really incompetent, can't tell the difference between a quiet section of a song and an actual break in the program. This channel is not monetized, so I have no control over the ad placement. But if they're intentionally going to disrupt single songs with ads, that's a scummy new low.
@jesselawrence3011 Жыл бұрын
@@flipdaboid8007 oh it definitely is a new low. I heard tales from others that they started doing that, now it's come to fruition. I'm sure they think this crap will get people to pay for premium, but they will never see a cent out of me!
