Right on! So did Stevie and Curtis. Motown and The Funk Brothers brought so much to the table back in the day, along with The Wrecking Crew in LA and The Swampers in Muscle Shoals. Greatness that lasts…

The words in this song from 1972 are totally relevant today in 2024. This song ranks in the top 5 of most important songs Berry Gordy did not want to record this song because he thought it was too controversial . Marvin persisted and it remains the classic that it is today. About a year ago CNN actually did a special on the significance of this song. Thanks for your great reaction to this. 👏👏🥰

Unparalleled musical greatness and I cried when he died. He was back on top churning out some incredible vibes and then he was gone. I know how but don’t like thinking about it. Who was better at baby making music? Probably no one.

Gentlemen ... rare air with brother Marvin--never seen ANY live versions--thank you. Words fail. Che: wrap your words around the chord changes on What's Goin' On--that kind of swirling, circular, uplifting sequence more at the end. Stop making us wait for it. Go to Inner City Blues NEXT ... THAT bassline. The tension of the whole composition. Exquisite. Keep goin guys ...

What more can be said? A perfect performance by Marvin at the top of his game. Jamerson is just on another level. The congas…dayum. The whole band is on point. The song is maybe more relevant today than it was when he performed it back then. That’s sad tho. Thank you.

this performance is epic, transcendent. Marvin in his prime, full fledged Funk Brothers, and Jamerson in full flight - not many videos showing the bass king in action. The imagery is a lesson in the American urban experience, much of which remains today
