Easy to fall in love with Nabers' explosiveness. But, I can remember a long list of wide receivers that were explosive and killed it in college and never panned out in the NFL. MHJ just already looks like a 5 year vet and checks all the boxes physically and everyone says his work ethic and desire to be great are unparalleled.

I think Josh is spot on when he notes that MHJ does everything so cleanly that it's easy to overlook him. It's easier for Nabers to "wow" you with speed, but at the end of the day I think MHJ is such a jack of all trades that he should firmly be WR1

Wr with elite explosion like Tyreek Hill, Mega-Tron, Randy Moss are typical the ones who game breakers. Not the jack of all trades imo. I’ll take elite explosion.

@chiefw3573 totally agree that Nabers could end up WR1 by the end of their rookie contracts. Personally, I just lean MHJ at this point based on what I saw from him in college and I feel like there's a lot less project there, but I totally get why ppl would want to take the upside swing with Nabers

@@chiefw3573the greatest WRs ever ran a 4.71 and 4.63 40 times respectively. Rice and fitz is who I’m talking about. Explosiveness will only get you so far, ask Dez Bryant. Without his speed, Tyreek is mid. His route running is nothing special. Run blocking and route running and durability are far more important characteristics for receivers to have. How did that explosiveness work out for John Ross? Randy moss and megatron weren’t just explosive, they were giants, who could run fast, catch everything, and run routes, run block, etc. explosiveness is just a bonus.

Why is everyone ignoring that MHJ was tracked at over 22 MPH vs Youngstown St this year? Watch his long TD vs WKU this year and tell me "the long speed isn't elite." When he needs to open it up he absolutely can, but he also played the majority of this season on an injured ankle after the ND game.

i had the exact same thought about him. it's the "effortlessness", the gracefulness in his stride, the ease of his movements that make people think he's not as good as he really is. you watch nabers and every moment seems forceful/impactful and so people assume he must be a more dynamic player but i wonder if it's not that simple. harrison just seems like he's gliding through air, and nabers seems like he's chopping wood.

Odunze doesnt belong anywhere near the #1 spot. MHJ is #1 and Nabers/Thomas Jr. are 2A/2B. I dont even have Odunze in my top 5. Hes a great college player whos really good at a lot of things, but he doesnt separate and if youre a big guy who cant separate youre basically Allen Lazard. Those guys are a dime a dozen. Odunze can be a nice player in the league but if youre taking a receiver anywhere near the top 10 that dude better be a borderline generational player. Odunze is far from a generational talent.

One thing that bugs me that I keep seeing about MHJ, they’re saying his yac has improved but there’s context to that. He had 5 missed tackles forced last year. His yac is not from making guys miss or running over guys, it’s simply from beating worse competition deep down the field and scoring long tds.
