When I was 12 in 2001 my dad threw away my 1993 pc I used to play on. He threw away all the floppy games too. In 23 years I still haven't got over what he did! I have a bucket O soldiers from toy story. I also collect currencies, retro games and and flags. I get a lot of my soldiers from BMC toys too!

BMC is a great source and at an affordable price to get toy soldiers.

@@paulknappcollectionsYes, I have an account with them and I've spent close to £800 on their products. I like in Europe UK and I get changed a lot for postage and packaging. Sometimes I get an MH and revenue and customs change on top. I have all the colours of army men and I have all the colours of tanks they do. Their such high quality.

I see the GiJoe behind you, but I remember Marx so fondly especially the 12 inch Figures to be with my GiJoes. I had a brand new Geronimo figure. That was so very rare. Usually mom could only afford toys at yard sales if it was being sold for pittance. Getting a 12 inch Man of Action at a thrift store for 1.00$ around 1977 mint condition with dog tag but in Land Adventurer fatigues. I was laughing and playing with it during the service. I had no idea who the person was in the family. But there were so many old people there. Those Marx playsets were things in old catalogs were elementary school Frederick's of Hollywood of junior high. Before perusing the adult magazines at Waldenbooks. Both the space sets or the Medieval castles or the cowboys and Indians were so huge.

Great memories, I onlt got toys at Christmas or birthdays. Never year round. I only had a Fort Apache and Guns of Navarone as a kid, then Star Wars happened. LOL

I got my Marx Alamo playset on Christmas of 1960, or it might have been 1961. It came with the original Fort Apache pioneers. As I remember they were in silver and tan. The Mexicans were all in light blue, consisting of both Shako hats and round hats. The front gate piece was the plastic (stone/adobe) in a cream color, not white. Thank you for posting all your informative playset videos. I enjoy going down memory lane and appreciate them very much.

My grandmother had an old Fort Apache playset in her attic that I would go up the narrow spiral staircase and play with. I’m pretty sure the house was haunted. I left it on a few occasions without putting it up.

Very late comments on your review and giant Alamo set up. Lots of instant memory flashes to a long, long ago toy time. A chap out of Florida who's name I regretfully cannot remember, had an outfit called Windows on the World. He was an architect and produced a small line of resin/plaster and wood buildings and fronts. He produced an alamo in 1/32. When set up it nearly filled a 12' x 8' board. You assembled and painted the buildings your self. This was all back in the late 1980s. Not terribly accurate but it worked at the time.

@@paulknappcollections I can vaguely remember them. Must have lost them pretty quick. I remember they had the real characters from the show in white, like Don Diego, Bernardo and Sgt Garcia. I think there was the officer that was in charge of the garrison as well. And I think there were TWO Zorro figures - one that rode a horse and one with his sword out, both in black.

Great video. Yeah I had an original Alamo playset that came with the Indians, was disappointed no Mexican soldiers, but the Indians attacked the fort and did their best anyway, ha ha, had hours of fun with the set. I did buy a reissue set a few years ago, and even bought tons of extra Mexican soldiers, (their can never be enough. Set it up once took up a lot of space, took it down later, never reproduced the hours I spent as a kid, however, sitting in a box somewhere among my stuff, but I could never ever part with it. Again thanks for making the video. Hey do you have a video on the Ben Hur set?
@paulknappcollections10 ай бұрын
Well I made a video on my exlarge version of Rome and the Ben Hur set last summer. Should be in my list. However KZbin changed my music because it was a copywright violation. The Ben Hur soundtrack was much better if you watch it.
