They are getting a bit hard to find intact these days. I know that there was a reproduction JW made using the original molds along with the blue, silver, gold and black nights,as well as a Custer reproduction. They pop up on ebay along with the 60s and 70s figures.

We had the Marx Noble Knights in the UK, I have a boxed complete Gold Knight and horse and a loose Silver Knight. I later found out that the armour for the knights and the horse were modelled on real examples of armour still on display in the British Museum! PS: The early GI Joe/Action Man figures with the plastic hands had an inverted thumbnail to discourage bootlegs! It didn't stop Pedigree Toys from marketing Tommy Gunn figures though..! 😂👍✌️
@markallandryden29654 ай бұрын
There was another company that actually got sued by hasbro because they used the hands to make their action figure. It was called RedBox Toys. I have a Gold Knight with the armour. It's a reissue. I actually put the armour on a modern GI Joe figure from around 1999 , took the knights head, and put it on a Captain Maddox body . Then, I took the Maddox head and put it on a Sam Cobra body. The Sam Cobra head was first used on the Sir Stuart the Silver Knight. There was a television program in the 1960s. It was called the Wild Wild West. The main character was James West. Marx Toys created a James West character but was not granted license by the TV show . So they took James Wests body and accessories, added the silver knight head to it, and made the figure known as Sam Cobra Renegade Outlaw. They took the James West head and put it on an American calvary figure body. Thus creating the Captain Maddox figure. I believe England had a figure known as "Cowboy Kidd" the James West- Maddox headsculpt was used with that figure too along with a black haired Johnny West headsculpt.

Our mothers a wonderful those that truly love but their Commander creator can never put in their head that toy or toys or comic books are collectors items I lost many things I loved sometimes you can be around your best friend and sometimes you play alone is Star Wars figures and other things are your friends but as a kid nobody tells you what a collector is and what you love is gone forever unless of course you're rich

I had GI Joe and also the Marx General Custer as a kid in the 60's. Marx also made some Knight figures that were cool . Unlike the Cherokee, the General Custer figure held up pretty well and seldom broke. I bought one a few years ago and it still was in nice condition.
@markallandryden29652 ай бұрын
A couple years ago remarx reproduced Custer, the knights, and Johnny West
@rjwalker41532 ай бұрын
@@markallandryden2965 Yeah, I saw some of those. But some of the vintage figures were not much more expensive. For me, I wanted the exact type of Custer figure I had as a kid, so nothing but vintage interested me. If one is patient, they can often find a vintage figure that is priced to sell. I did, I even got an original box with mine. Now GI Joes are a different matter. Vintage ones in their original boxes are usually very pricey. But some of the Marx figures are quite reasonable. You were certainly right about the Cherokee chief though. Almost all of them on ebay were broken. So mint ones of those were more pricey.

A dollar in 1960 has the same value of 10 bucks today, though. Still an increase, but perhaps not as much as many will think - especially if you consider that GI Joe has a brand history and a different target audience today.
