We heard a lot of evocation of history and 'worlding' here but no meat on the bones. His historicizing method seems to extend to pointing out Descartes' philosophy and the Spanish conquest of the Americas or Freud and the Scramble for Africa occurred in the same century and then saying this "this can't be a coincidence". Whole thing seems like a mountain of sand.

Robert’s view seems to go with Jason Hickel’s degrowth economic view, an anti-racist position accounting for externalities along colonialist/class lines in terms of growth and climate. Good point about trauma on both sides, colonizers inevitably dehumanizing themselves..

Very eurocenrtic dialogue, why not getting out of European Empire and visit other empires, like otoman vs austro Hungarian, cast system in inda, other places, as for psychoanalysis why not contrasting with no- self studies, as for Marxism why not reading books on modern Chinese Marxism, have them translated at least...
