it’s actually an australian accent (the actress is Australian - though to be fair, the New Zealand accent is fairly similar to ours). As a fellow aussie, it just made me fall in love with the show even more, because Australian accents (that aren’t awful attempts by american actors or over the top stereotypes) are SO rare, and it just made the show even more comforting.
