I was so biased as a Pentaholic. Came to love and enjoy Home Free and Voice Play. Stunning performance and reaction as always. Thank you. Greetings from South Africa

Your analysis is always "good filth"! Thanks for this one! We appreciate their talent even more after watching your videos. Not sure how many Christmas videos you can do this season, but I am dying to hear your analysis of Geoff Castellucci's "Carol of the Bells"! I've seen soooo many reaction videos, but NO ONE breaks it down like you do! So with great anticipation, I will keep checking youtube every day just in case you decide to react to it! 😉

I didn't know that song. Home Free introduced it to me and I love it so, especially their version. Thanks for you reaction 🤩

You chanced to pick my favorite Christmas song by HF. Great reaction. You may wish to consider the brand-new release they have done about Mr. Grinch. It's hilarious. Tim is the lead on this song. I wonder why? 🤣🤣🤣

Voctave featuring Mark Lowry, who is the lyricist of this song, is a must! Perfection!

I had not known this song before I heard this version. I had to ask a friend if this is what it usually sounded like. She was adamant that it was not. I love the harmonies and the deep boom in the background. I think it's Adam Rupp, but there are differing opinions on that. I'm surprised there isn't a live fan video because they do this in their Christmas shows. I've seen it live twice and it is just as amazing, although without so many layers, of course. Happy holidays!

As a French kid, this song is just unknown in my book, so this Home Free's version was my first time hearing it. It took me a little time to enjoy it, but i have to say that the Boys make it hard to not really love any of their songs/covers 😍 Thx Sir, perfect reaction as always 👍💖

Great reaction to one of my favorite versions of this song. Voctave (with Mark Lowry) ranks up there too. Good job as always, Sir ...

If you’re interested in the absolute best a cappella covers of this song, Peter Hollens’ solo cover will blow your mind. My favorite duet cover of “Mary, did you know” is by Tomi P featuring Casper Fox.

LOL, Dorothy, you are going to send me down another rabbit hole to find these songs 😂

@@smallmoments957If you enter the Peter Hollens rabbit hole, please listen to his solo cover of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Tomi P is an extreme bass singer with a 6+ octave range (which is on full display in his cover of “Hellfire.”) Geoff Castellucci just released the best cover of “Carol of the Bells” - simply a masterpiece. Eric Gronwall’s rendition of “O Holy Night” is also incredible.

As much of a Home Free fan I am, my favorite version of this song is by the acapella group Voctave, featuring Mark Lowry, the writer of this song. It is otherworldly and Mark's passion & accentuation of the words emphasizes the meaning behind his song. A must view.

Reminds me of the Pentatonix version, I think it is quite comparable. Of course Home Free is pretty incredible with their technical genius comes through The Pentatonix version seems more delicate or maybe soft. Both are great. ❤R/A🎼

I find them quite different later in the song. Maybe just the difference between the voices, lower vs higher. I like them both. Edited to add: Going back and listening to PTX and HF back to back, I see what you mean about the similarities. I think I was thrown off by the more pop feel from PTX. Which I actually like a little better. Thanks

Of the versions I’ve heard recently, I like Hound + Fox. Very low key with focus on the piano.

Wow, that clip was OLD; It was before either Tim or Austin had joined the group, so prior to 2011(I think that is more or less when Tim came on full time). But it wasn't Elliot Robinson on bass, either. Matt Attwood was the other tenor at that time. This is one of my least favorite carols, but I love HF's arrangement of it.

As much as I like Home Free, I think that Pentatonix did a better arrangement of this song. That and having a female voice in the group just brings out the lyrics for me.

Great clip from HomeFree’s pre-Tim and pre-Austin days. Rob used to carry the lead a lot more in those days. They had a very funky “Joy to the World” that was heavy on percussive sounds by all and a real showcase of Rob. Dec 2013 Hosanna concert included Austin, Chris and Tim along with Adam and Rob.

I really liked this version of a very beautiful song. I loved the deepness of Tim's voice and I think it brought such a different feeling to the overall song/performance. It was great. A couple of things I didn't care for as much were, as you mentioned, some of the sounds the beatboxer was making. Maybe they are in the beat boxer's book of sounds to make but I didn't like them in this performance at all. The other thing.. and maybe it's just his voice/style I don't know but I thought Austin sounded a bit nasal and I didn't care much for that. Overall, this was a very nice (but not my favorite) rendition of "Mary Did You Know?"

Agree. They did do a good job of emphasizing the WORDS appropriately.
