Mary died for her child and country. Her husband went mad, and she was backed into a corner. Her baby's life was at risk, she had no choice. She was smart and she knew what would happen but she did it for Scotland. She lost everything and that's all she had left. Since birth her one job was to be Mary Queen of Scott's. She wrote to Elizabeth for a hope that she would protect Mary's child when she's gone, and that her baby would rise to become king of both Scotland and England. Uniting the two countries. Mary had lost Francis her first husband who she loved very much, and had no choice but to return to Scotland and become queen. She then married Lord Darnley, who was one of the biggest mistakes she ever made. He was the decision that led to the fall of her reign. Mary ordered Darnley to be murdered, and once he was she fled to Elizabeth who had promised would help her. But when Mary had wrote to Elizabeth for help she didn't know she would be fleeing from a murder charge. Elizabeth had Mary imprisoned at Sheffield Castle for 14 years. Elizabeth couldn't let Mary leave nor could she stay. On February 8, 1587, Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded for treason. Her son, King James VI of Scotland, calmly accepted his mother's execution. When Queen Elizabeth died in 1603 he became king of England, Scotland, and Ireland. The last episode of the series was heartbreaking, it was beautiful how they had Mary and Francis together in the end. ❤️Elizabeth won the battle, Mary won the war❤️

Some historians would say that Mary was impulsive, was lustful and THAT technically lead to her downfall while Queen Elizabeth really dedicated her whole life to her country & the era of Elizabeth was a great time for Britain. Mary didn’t really contribute much to her country.
