I have a huge mental block on this song. It was the first song of any real difficultyI tried to learn all the way through. I was 12 years old and I'd seen SRV on television. I had no money and couldn't afford the CD or lessons or anything so I had to try to learn it from memory. A friend of mine was learning to play drums and we'd try to play it together but never could. I was rushing that third measure and it is absolutely stuck in my head that way. I can play along with this video but it takes so much effort! It's really weird. Just a simple blues progression with those little fills. I can play the solo pretty much note for note in time. I can improv over it. But as soon as I try to play rhythm I get messed up. Another simple song I have trouble with is Alman Brothers' Melissa. I try to rush it, too. It's very strange how things can get stuck in your head early on.

Same here, the strumming in Pride and joy is not easy either 😢

I fake it till I make it, by stumming along with recording & adding fills, also just isolating small sections helps, but then putting them together takes patients! Side note this is a challenging goove.🛸

I was self taught and I made the mistake of learning to play leads first. I didn't know any chords except for a few chords in 1st position. They didn't have books on learning except for Mel Bay. If you found a book on rock or blues it just had chords in 1st. Rhythm being 90% of the song even doing little fills. Once I started learning chords and rhythm, I found it to be fun. I'm still not a good rhythm guitarist unless it's on acoustic. I don't use tabulature at all to difficult, you need to know how to count note value really well. I listen and learn by ear. From playing and making sure my guitars are tuned correctly, I trained my ear. I can tune my guitar by ear, checkout with a tuner and it will be dead on. I also found that listening to songs without using guitar is helpful. Listen to the part your trying to get down listen to the drums, listen again tap the rhythm with your fret board fingers. If you can record just the passage of song your trying to get down to a computer, phone or tablet. You can slow down the part your trying to learn without changing the pitch.

For some reason simple songs or parts of songs are more difficult for me to learn. Mary Had A Little Lamb the easy song is more difficult than learning more difficult versions. Strange

Meraviglioso! Infine, è visibile uno schema ritmico, ovunque ci sono solo stupide schede per i più piccoli. E qui viene indicato anche il colpo del mediatore, un vero tesoro! Ottimo canale, mi iscrivo con piacere!

Thanks for uploading!!! Couldnt really figure out all the techinques during the solo so definitely gonna learn this now!! Thanks again! Also, i noticed u have your middle finger extended using your strumming hand, is there any advantages to this like for example making tapping easier or is it just your preffered way of playing / a habit??? Again, much love for the tab!

Thank you 🙏. I don’t know, it’s a habit (maybe common for metalheads guitarists)!
