More wicked originality from a genius. Go ahead, Mary.

4 minutes in - a beautiful take on a beautiful tune- Carla Bley is a hidden goldmine of lyricism-and Ms H gets that --a great meeting between generations- heartwarming . . .

i like that she is mastering her own style. every time i think i aleady know all of her gimmicks, halvorson always does something different. that's how you know a great musician

There's something so abrasive about that tremolo effect she uses. It sounds like it's done manually with a volume pedal. The music refuses to fade into the background - Its like in a film when they break the fourth wall.

I'm trying to learn some Joe Pass right now. Boy jazz is a hard way to go but for some of us it really is a natural inclination to play it. There is one with her and Bill Frisell that was really amazing. To see someone with that much skill is absolutely inspiring and to go to the lengths too learn jazz is such a dignified accomplishment within itself. I love seeing musicians play jazz. and every bit of it inspires me to learn more. She's really pretty too. Her hair looks really nice.

Go to bed. You can't be this stupid. To improvise and make patterns out of the improvisation is so difficult.

Somehow her name popped up on my KZbin feed. I had high hopes but after watching several of her videos, nope. She obviously can't play to save her life. Idiosyncratic? Sure! But that's certainly not an accomplishment. Derek Bailey on the other hand...
