Caristalalala Tan I don't want to be horrible, but nearly all young female 'singers' nowadays do that long one-note shouty thing with their voice. It's nothing new. They do it so that it seems like they can actually sing when really, that is not actually singing. That is the unfortunate thing about this current generation of music sadly.

Plus Kanye was saying I respect you and wouldn't do anything to hurt you you can trust me. Taking credit for her yrs of hard work is what hurt her the most. The media saying Taylor never heard anything about the song till its release was the lie. She never denied the conversation with Kanye just the lyrics that she didn't approve of. Taylor's haters only see what they want not the truth. They say she denied any knowledge but you can't deny her reps statement about the song form the very start. Heard this first in 2016, I broke down crying, was going through depression, self-doubt, self-hate and stress. Hearing this now in 2018, I'm crying, thinking about everything I've overcome, in college, started my own business, in a healthy relationship with someone, friends and family, no sign of depression in Jesus' mighty name, basically, living my best life. So I'm going to say this: the darkest, darkest times come right before the dawn (this doesn't mean there won't be dark times again) but now I've learnt to overcome doubt, and self hate, and low self esteem, and everything in between. I wake up everyday feeling blessed and favored no matter what I'm going through, and I'm adding Doubt by Mary J Blige and Taylor Swift(QUEEN) to my success story !

First time seeing this. Love it so much. T.Swift has been gaining respect in my eyes in the past few months that I've actually started paying any attention to her, but this collab is so unexpectedly amazing. Mary J. Blige is the queen. I loved her as a teenager in high school because of all her positive messages about staying strong as a woman in a tough world. Taylor's voice is pretty strong and soulful in this one. I hope somehow this comment brings this video back from "the dead" for many out there.

I loved how she started the song, it was a more modern touch maybe? her vocals were stronger than I've ever heard. Then MJB came on and took it to another level, I felt like she was trying to uplift Taylor, from almost a maternal perspective - it made me tear up.

Looking back from 2024 to 2015 when Taylor is singing this, not knowing yet all the trials she STILL had ahead of her to go through, gives the song more poignancy - the Kanye West and Kim Kardashian debacle where they tried to ruin her career and reputation, Scott Borchetta selling her masters to her nemesis Scooter Braun, the DJ David Mueller who sexually assaulted her then took her to court and sued her for a million dollars after he got fired....she made lemonade out of all those lemons. She rose like a phoenix to higher heights, winning Grammies for her third AND fourth Album of the Year, making the cover of Time Magazine's Person of the Year and going on tour with the Eras Tour, the highest grossing tour of all time. By rerecording all her albums she was able to remake them her way include vault tracks and gain even more success with her rereleases the second time around. Her directorial debut with her film All Too Well won a Grammy for best music video and HCA's Best Short Film award. She truly got the last laugh. That's why the lyrics to Doubt have even greater meaning now: You think you beat me down, But I'll have the last laugh, I'll keep getting up, 'Cause that's what I'm gonna do, yeah, I'm gonna be the best me, I'm sorry if it kills you, I made it to the end, I nearly paid the cost, I lost a lot of friends, I sacrificed a lot, I'd do it all again, 'Cause I made it to the top, I can't keep doubting myself anymore... Meanwhile her enemies are rolling in the muck and mire they created : Kim's unethical and slimy behaviour (kimkardashianruinedmylife.com/) Kanye's stunts which made him a pariah, (www.the-sun.com/entertainment/10539930/kanye-west-vultures-1-europe-venues-concerts-controversy/) Scooter Braun's divorce soon after Taylor's song Mad Woman exposed his infidelity, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande all dropping him as a manager and the investigation for fraud for Braun's shady money deals :(www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/scooter-braun-hit-with-fraud-suit-private-equity-firm-1234962451/). Karma.

Omg I absolutely love you for this comment, you’re so so right! I’m lucky enough to have gone and seen the eras tour 3x times. Videos like this really show how she’s always been. So kind, so respectful so sweet, and always sharing her stage. She couldn’t at the eras tour bc it was legit “THE ERAS TOUR” but I know if it was a normal tour she would. Thank you for your comment. I absolutely agree and love it

@SamAdan-jg8tb Thank you so much. I like to take every opportunity that presents itself to expose the pure avarice and wickedness of Kimye and the two nefarious "Scots" and praise the greatness of Taylor. She's been through more than most people are aware of and she's done it with grace and dignity, incredible talent, beauty and kindness. She's a gem.

The thing that gave me tremendous respect for Taylor Swift, was at 3:46, she became Mary J. Blige's BACKGROUND SINGER; and after that, took a solo only after Ms. Blige asked her to. And THEN, just jump around and lip-sinc'd like any other Mary J. Blige fan in that audience.

Yes, Taylor! So tired of people saying she can’t sing. She was a baby when she started in the industry and she was thrown into the fire too early before her voice had matured because she wrote amazing lyrics and is stunningly beautiful, but she always had the tools. Her voice just took a couple of years to mature. She honed her craft. Saw her last month in Vancouver at the last weekend of Eras and she was amazing! I don’t know how she did so many shows and kept up that pace for almost 2 years. She is the hardest working woman in show business! And Mary? Well, she’s a Queen and deserves all the praise 🫶!
