I've tried mary kay many years ago through an acquaintance at a apartment complex, 30 years ago, and i was 32 then. I recently bought the volu-firm night cream which i love. I bought it to replace the clinique smart custom night cream that I've absolutely loved for years. I'm taking baby steps, so to speak on changing from the day cream of the same line that didn't get discontinued, im running low on that. My curiosity is about the serum here. My serum got changed by clinique, to a new advanced clinical serum. My question is about comparing ingredients. The clinique serum has retinol, and a ton of peptides. These ingredients are some that are completely different. I'm actually glad the serum does not have retinol, as the night cream has it, and too much retinol seems to dry me out. Thank you for any advice about comparing ingredients, and also, your skin is amazing, and truly glowing so I'm curious about how old approximately you are, but its none of my business, but good job, and sorry for such a long post!

Is it normal to have burning on my cheekbones while using volu-firm?

If you experience a slight tingling you probably have sensitive skin and if it goes away after a minute or so it is probably fine. But if your skin burns and it’s uncomfortable I would recommend using another product.

I have the MK Timewise Volu-Firm kit, started about three weeks ago. My question regarding the serum. How much is to be used when doing the routine? I always feel like I’m using too much of it and then I’m gonna run out so quick because it doesn’t spread very easily, it’s very different than putting on a lotion. Is it just kind of sweeping it on. I have a tendency to be trying to rub it in all over my face. Advice?

Diane, great question. The product does have a quicker use rate than the other products in the set. I typically do 2 pumps. Here's a great tip to make it spread easier: apply to a damp face. Don't towel you face off after cleansing. Apply the product while face is still slightly wet. It's much easier to spread and will absorb better that way. Hope that helps!

Is there a certain age to start this from the other set ( Time Wise miracle set) I’m debating which one to start. I’m 35 and I am starting to see some wrinkles.

Hi Kimberly. I have customers of all ages who use the line. I started using it as soon as it came out which was in my late 30's. It is designed to target moderate to advanced signs of aging whereas the regular Timewise line is for beginning to moderate signs of aging. If you're seeing more wrinkles than you have in the past I would recommend giving it a try. Unless you're not currently using any anti-aging skin care. Then you might start with the regular line first and see how it works for you. Hope that helps!

Absolutely! It’s a serum so you’d wash your face, apply your serum then follow with moisturizer. After that is absorbed in you can start your makeup application.
