So I don’t use pomades to get “Instagram brows” or blocky brows. And that’s not what dipbrow or products like it was intended for. Anastasia created it to make hair like strokes that would last all day. Then influencers got a hold of it and created block brows.
@MaryamMaquillage3 жыл бұрын
True, but dipbrow is a great product for building up the brow, just takes too long. I find that the best for hair like strokes is a micro-fine marker that really mimics the width of brow hairs. It’s much harder with a brush
@LoveableRuca3 жыл бұрын
You’re right I definitely prefer the marker types we have now to create those fine strokes. We’ve come a long way.

My eyeshadow base is always the P. Louise base. Either that or the Rare Beauty eyeshadow primer is bomb too. I also enjoy the soft ocher paint pot that Mac has. Lancome's eyeshadow primer in the pot is also another nice primer for the eyes as well.

I use the Laura Mercier foundation and I haven’t had the experience you had. Her foundations are some of the most used in my “collection”. Anew to me foundation of hers is the Silk Crème Oil Free Photo Edition Foundation. As someone who is oilyAF and has pigmentation and texture issues, I found this to be pretty good. I don’t like cream blushes for your exact reasons as well. The brow product reviews were helpful. I can’t stand waxy and am glad you tried before I “buyed”. The Jaguar palette may end up living with me too.

I personally didn’t like the LM flawless lumiere foundation! I gave it away. It always looked heavy on me. I don’t know if you have tried the It Cosmetics your skin but better foundation, but it’s such a beautiful foundation! I am a foundation junkie. I pretty much buy every one that comes out. Some people collect eyeshadows, blushes, whatever, mine is foundation. An IT Cosmetics is probably my fav of all time! An I don’t hear anyone talk about it. It’s light-medium coverage, natural finish, and looks like skin, but soooooo much better! I think you would like it!❤️

For me filling all my brow with nyx its a lot of time, hardly have some hairs so i have to be a pomade girl and if it stays all day on my oily skin and very humid climate, sign me in 😅, i prefer a brow pencils but they r not that longlasting

For me personally..I really liked the finish and coverage of the Laura Mercier Lumiere foundation. However it dries down too dark and orange. I even tried the lightest neutral shade and it was still too dark. The shade range just was not for me. I think they need to check the expiration dates of their products before shipping them out. Because that's just not acceptable that they sent you an expired foundation. I went to get my shade in store and all the bottles were expired. Very strange. It's disappointing because it's a beautiful foundation. The Lawless Conseal the Deal foundation is stunning though!! I'm a huge fan of that one. It wears beautifully.
@kaybragdon97723 жыл бұрын
I have very sparse brows. Almost non-existent. I prefer to start with a brow powder, then pomade, then a pencil. I find for my non-existent brows that using multiple brow products with different textures gives me a better expression concerning my brows. I live for your reviews though! I have the same type of skin as you. And I also just looked at my laura mercier flawless lumière radiance perfecting foundation, I bought it a couple of months ago, and it definitely should not come out of the pump broke up and separated from itself. I haven't found if I like it or not yet. When I got it, I mixed it with one or two other foundations and have yet to use it on its own. I will have to put it to the test.
@MaryamMaquillage3 жыл бұрын
yes for sure! If your brows are of a concern to you, then a pomade and/or several different steps are probably your best bet 😊😊
@kaybragdon97723 жыл бұрын
@@MaryamMaquillage I struggle so bad with my brows because they are so sparse. 😩 I throw in a brow pen too when I feel like I need it. I used to just use a pencil but obviously it would give the effect of a fake brow which isn't my favorite but it was better than no brows. I am still playing around with different products on my brows. The MadLuvv brow kit looks so intriguing to me but I'm not sure if that's the way to go for my extremely thin and sparse brows. I need someone to teach me how to do brows that are right for me and my face. I learn the most from watching people like you (few and far between people like you) and then doing the techniques on myself after I see them. That's basically how I taught myself how to do modern makeup on myself. I'm always learning and always teachable. 😌 thank you for all that you have been teaching me 🖤💚💜

I love your monthly favorites and fails! It truly helps me decide what to get and what to pass on! You do such in-depth thorough reviews and you are #honestaf which I so appreciate ☺️💜 I’m definitely going to get the Josie Maran face self tanner, the before and after pictures look so gorgeous! It doesn’t give your face that weird dry looking face! I’m also going to get the Makeup by Mario eyebrow pencil. I think you used his super gold eyebrow gel? I love the laminated/fluffy brow look. I typically get my eyebrows professionally laminated but I’m taking a break so my question is did you like the Makeup by Mario eyebrow gel? I use the ABH Brow freeze (love it) but I’m trying to decide if I should get Patrick Ta new lamination brow gel or the Makeup by Mario eyebrow gel! Those Bare Mineral palettes were a complete disaster!! I remember watching you review them and you applied the first color and it was literally invisible there was zero payoff and the packaging is so odd to me. It’s not Bare Minerals esthetic whatsoever in my opinion. I’m so happy you revisited the new Laura Mercier light catching setting powder. The way you applied it looks so beautiful 😍 I hope they release them in a mini size. There is no way I would ever be able to use a full size up!

Yeaasss I agree with everything you're saying. I haven't tried Mario's brow gel yet, I seem to have misplaced it in my mess... but as soon as I find it, I'll test it out! Yup, that's exactly why I love the Josie self tanner - it causes no texture whatsoever. If anything, it's super hydrating and it makes the skin more healthy looking.

Tbh the only reason I’m debating using bare minerals is because @maryam swears by the mineral veil powder other than that (I’m 20 so gen z) that’s a brand that I haven’t even considered 🤷🏽♀️ The powder also because I have the exact same skin as you - oily af, acne prone, large pores and medium with warm under tone skin tone which threw me off so much lol (I’m also Asian - I’m from India :) )
