Thanks Mary J for a wonderful tutorial. Your explanation are very good and also your English. To all having problems with it just look at the videos and take notes that’s the best way to learn. I use to teach Sugar Arts, Crochet and knit classes. Some of my students wanted to do the lesson at the same time I was teaching. I stop and told them to “look at what I was doing first, them do your part, that way you wouldn’t get confused. Take note and let’s have fun.” There’s a mistake in the pattern in row 19, I believe it repeats the second row ch 1, skip 1st, chain 3. If I add all the sts on the tutorial I will have 44 st. I need to have 40 sts. As I low down the video I notice the mistake better. It’s in the written part not what she is saying. R19- 3sc, ch 1, skip 1 st, 3 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 4 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 3 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 6 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 3 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 4 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 3 sc Ch 1 skip 1 st, 3 sc Hope this help. Thanks again for a wonderful tutorial. Have a Bless Day 😊

+Miriam Abuela hi Miriam, thanks a lot for your comment I hope it can be helpful for the ones who have difficulties following the tutorial because it's "too fast". I can't see the mistake in row 19, and if I count the stitches I wrote I have 40stitches.
@mairimml5266 жыл бұрын
MaryJ Handmade Please count the ones I did. In Row 19 you have 7+4+5+4+7+4+5+4+4=44. I notice in the video in it self that you didn’t do second part. That’s how I figure it out. Look we have to see the videos and take notes. You did a great job and like I said your English is great. Thanks 😊. My friend send me a link and wanted to know if I could make one for her. Good luck, continue your talent. Am here if you need any advice or help with anything. Take care. 👍🏻

Hi Miriam, I'm so happy you are trying to help me and so grateful as English is not my mother tongue and I can get confused sometimes :D I counted the stitches you wrote in your previous comment which are right! At this time I counted the ones on the screen. I did not had to write the second line! Thanks a lot, I'll try to write it in the first comment :)

I heard the typo a day after I got didn't understand why I had one stitch at the end that wasn't being used in the pattern. I did think it was a pattern error. If you don't understand the pinned comment, all you need to do is to listen to rnd 19 instead of reading it because it will save you some time.

Mary J, I love your little backpack! I'm making 2 for my twin granddaughters for their birthday. I found an error in the English video, however. I haven't watched it Italian or Spanish (which I speak), so I don't know if it is there, too. The last stiches of row 19 say, "ch 1, Sk 1 st, then 3 sc . " the last stitches should be 6 so the count works out, and it matches the other side of the pack. Minor oops, but a beginner may not know how to work that out. I'm looking for more of your designs!
@tammysuddeth80827 жыл бұрын
Hi Peggy, I was wondering if you have made this project? If so can you tell what kind of thread was used and where I might find it?
@dobedobedont7 жыл бұрын
Tammy suddeth Tammy, I'm in the process of making them now. She used A DK weight yarn, which is a size 3 yarn. You can use a worsted weight and a hook size smaller than recommended by the package. I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice, which is a size 4 yarn, but somewhat lighter. My packs ended up being 4 inches tall, which is great for 6 year olds. The Dk yarn can be ordered online from Love Crochet or Deramores, both being great companies to work with. Alternatively, you could use a spurt weight yarn from a local vendor, or even a baby yarn. I'm pretty happy with mine, though. Enjoy making them!
@dobedobedont7 жыл бұрын
Ok, not spurt weight, but sport weight :) I also used a size D hook (3.5 mm), and worked my stitches fairly tight.

Hi Gabby. The backpack is worked in a continuous spiral, similar to how Amigurmi is worked. That's why you need the stitch marker so you know where the next round begins.

Thank you for the tutorial. My 1st pouch came out ok, even though I just read about row 19, so I might go back and fix, except that I tied everything off and eased in all the tails. My problem is the flap. I have gone frame by frame, and still, something is not coming out correctly. The instructions after row 3 are not detailed enough, I think. Is this pattern written down anywhere?
@grapetree7304 жыл бұрын
I realized that she said for the 3rd row its 2 sc and inc. (32) then for the 4th row she to do the same thing and she said you would get 32 but the only way to get 32 in the 4th row is to single crochet one stitch in each not 2 sc and inc like the 3rd

@naftaliayukabredyaamara54287 жыл бұрын
S Ng You're welcome :) haha i think we have to realize many things here by ourselves in order to finish it. So in that row, you should 6 sl st, 2 sc, 1inc (for next 3 st), chain 6, then start 1 inc (for the next 3 st by going through the third stitch from the stitch you make chain 6), 2 sc, 6 sl st. I was lost too in that part, but this step helped me. Although the button hole might look wider than appears on the video, i'm still confused too. But at least I can finish it and it still looks good :D hope this helps you too hehe
