For years I have had a desperate crush on this dude. Especially when he plays these masculine, 'average' criminal-type characters :P I think it's amazing he turned down Batman. He's interested in more compelling work... it's not everyone's end game to just be some blockbuster sellout. It's obvious he is inspired and motived by particular stories and art as I just learned he's heavy into graffiti. He said he still lives in Antwerp... I'm definitely going to show there just praying to run into him LOL. I have the utmost respect for him. Not only is he a smokeshow but as a person he is complex, intellectual, talented... Yes!! I love his tortured characters. He's a mixture of dark and animal with a touch of vulnerability. Matthias is a fascinating man. I think his own upbringing and experience is even more compelling than his work which is pretty amazing. I love finding more Matthias fans. He's underappreciated and I want him to continue his climb.

I don´t think it's bullshit. As the other interviewer said. Mathias could simply answer that he didn´t want to make the batman. But I understood Mathias. He comes maked a career in the line of cult. And doing the batman would be very different from your type of career. A difference not very positive. Mathias says he would love to work with director David Lynch. Want something more cult than working with David Lynch?!! He is great actor.

Matthias can get to any level, depicting a boy who had abusive parents and fell into a life of crime because that's all he knew. Adele was ok in the film and gave him a chance to improve his circumstances. I liked the film, but the ending was devoted to his mother as she may have passed due to the disease Adele had. It seemed everything eventually went wrong, but it was supposed to be that way. Still adore him.

This talkshow is from The Netherlands (in Amsterdam), so it's Dutch. But the actor is from Belgium and Flemish like me. But Dutch and Flemish are close. Some words are different and when we speak in our dialects, they won't get a word of what we say in The Netherlands. But when we do an effort and/or stick to the standards, it's very close and we can talk without a problem. Long story short: Dutch (and Flemish, but he speaks with a "Dutch tongue" so they can get him better, would be a bit different if the talkshow was in Belgium).
