Maryland's Last Sears - Frederick, MD. Enjoy a walking tour around the last Sears that is not yet closing in Maryland. This one opened in 1978 and is located at Francis Scott Key Mall. It was alarmingly empty in this store for not liquidating. Just shows how close the end is for Sears completely.

@@peacefuldaizy5717 hopefully, somebody will be able to buy the property when they close down. The building looks like it’s still in good shape. There are all kinds of things they can do with it. The former Sears space Morgantown Mall in Morgantown WV is currently being rented buy WVU hospital for COVID-19 testing and vaccines, which I feel is a great idea until this virus gets under control.

Sears is done at this point. It is so sad to see how bad things have gotten. I took advantage of the closing sales to get some Sears signage and memorabilia. All of the Sears within 1,000 miles of me are gone or closing in the next few weeks.

@@tricountyretail992 Various signage around the store. Making moments matter stuff and some older 90's era signage. Sometimes the cashier will just let you have a sign, sometimes they will ring you up for a dollar or so. The best way to get signage is to avoid the fixture counter, try to go to the regular registers. A lot of liquidators will not sell things with a company logo. The people at the regular registers could care less from my experience.

Today marks the one year anniversary since the Sears near my house closed. It still sits vacant, and probably will for a while because the mall recently announced that it owes $100 million on its mortgage. So It’s ironic that you posted this video today. Anyways happy late Valentine’s Day.

I've been going to that store all of my life. I can remember the catalog pickup area in that store, waiting there with my mom while her orders were retrieved out of the cubbies in the back area. Great memories.

This is the Sears I grew up going too. We'd always park at the side entrance, it was easier to get a good spot and we always knew where the car was. Fond memories. That deserted hallway you went down used to be the photo store and then on the opposite side from that H&R Block used to set up there and my parents would get their taxes done there. I'd always go with hoping to get to go in the mall after. Sad. Didn't know about Pizza Hut? Are they getting rare too? There's still a lot in MD according to their Website. Haven't been in years because of my gluten-intolerance. They had the best pizza though I thought. And I loved the Book It program as a kid.

This used to be a busy store. I went here often. Our Sears in Hagerstown Md was the same. I don't thik the problem is so much that the consumers gave up on Sears and Kmart as it is Sears and Kmart gave up on the consumers.

I always loved the curved brick walls on that store. I could even see them from the car on I-270. BTW, you guys are such a cute couple. Thanks for the video. I especially enjoy them when I'm familiar with the store/mall. I will really miss that store when it, inevitably, is closed.

Frederick native. Was a mallrat at FSK mall in the 90s. Unreal how empty that store is, especially the hardware section. We did some messed up stuff in that store back in the day.

I live close to Frederick, Maryland the Francis Scott Key Mall does great for businesses inside the Mall. A lot of people like to go shopping there. I love shopping at indoor malls. Especially at my favorite stores like Hollister, Aeropostale, Spencer's, Hot Topic, and American Eagle.

I live here and go to this mall fairly regularly. Never go into Sears. It's been sparsley stocked for 5+ years. Don't know how it is still open.

I'm surprised that Frederick is the last Sears in Maryland. I always figured that they would have closed that before White Oak, considering how massive that White Oak store is, even if half of it is currently not being used.

When we were kids in a rural community getting the Sears catalog by mail was a sure sign of Christmas.. Folks didn't always have the time or money to drive over an hour to go shopping, and if the kids came along, where was the magic? Those pages were pored over, again and again. The thought of there being something under the tree that you had picked out was magical. You may be closing stores, but you won't be forgotten.

April 2022 Update: It's wild to say the least. Still a general assortment of discounted clothing. But I think the saddest part is the fact that the tools and automotive section is basically just some craftsman hand tools and some grills. Oh, and did I mention at least half of the lights are off in the store? Yeah, the door you entered in this video is now almost completely dark with some flood lights illuminating up from the floor. RIP Sears...you didn't deserve to go out this way.

We used to have a sears about an hour from town that I would frequently go to with my family its no longer there in the mall best buy took its spot and guess what 6000 square feet is missing no wonder it feels smaller.

WallieB26 will you be doing a video at the Kmart in Lancaster on Willow Street before it closes? I was just there and it's stocked fuller than it has been in awhile, some stuff is already 70% off. It's the busiest it's been in awhile too. It's a shame people are only shopping there now that it's closing. Sucks it's closing, after the one in York closed it's the only Kmart we had left in the York/Lancaster area. Anyway be great if you did a video there before it closes in April, if it even makes it to April. Be awesome to meet you there.

Those double lights must be a 70s thing because my local Sears, which opened in 1971 had those lights. Same with another Sears in my state that opened in 1978, the same as this one.

Pizza Hut closed its restaurants but has been opening smaller locations that are carry out. Some may have a few tables but no where as big of a building as they use to have.

I made it down from Hagerstown to the Kmart in Aspen Hill a month ago. Already a lot gone if it was ever there. The clerk said that store had the best sales record of all the remaining Kmarts so three were surprised by the closing. She said it's all about the real estate.
