I love Jil Sander. She is correct about creative directors' being expected to hit the ground running and turn out instantly successful collections.

It’s the quality and design that has everyone seeking out vintage. I brought a vintage mens YSL suit but the back of the jacket made my bottom look Huge so I asked my tailor to sew it down. His assistant started talking about cutting the back 👀👀👀👀😳NO. You buy vintage for the quality and design, not destruction. Any way my tailor understood the assignment. He sewed the back beautifully. I had so many compliments on that piece ❤

Great video. I’m glad she doesn’t own her name label. The undercover sweatshop investigation video showed her name along with Dior n Marni. Im following her advice n buying mostly vintage. Thanks for your work.

I don’t think she owns the rights to her name now. That’s why the Uniqlo collab is called J+. I’m not sure what that means for any potential future launches.

@RosieGray Very True. I don't think she owns her name anymore.

When it comes to minimalism i think people tend to forget that is is a philosophy of living and not an aesthetic (hate this word), and the way that the clothes look depends of this philosophy it is attached to it, it is not an independent think. (I tried to be brief because if i i start speaking about Japanese minimalism, this comment would look like a whole book).

Hi Mary I love Jill Sander not as much as Old Celine PP but I do a few pieces. Don’t mind to get some more, of course if it’s something really special. Have a blessed day🙏❤️

If she doesn’t own her name then why couldn’t she head Chanel? I think it would throw everyone off to have a classic designer at the helm who isn’t controversial ❤

This is not just a problem in fashion - it is true in movies and music - in fact the culture at the moment. Real new creative ideas are not there so it is all nostalgia and making sequels or remakes.

Very interesting… we turn to vintage for many reasons, quality, yes, but also , fit, darts , seams, and drape. Not everyone wants a boxy tee shirt shape. We may be looking to the past designs because the present designs doesn’t inspire us? Words to consider: basics, minimal, capsule, recycle… all evoke the word “less”. As a creative person, less, gives me less to work with. 🎨

Fashion is an industry and many people earn a living with it. If everybody goes for vintage, too many people will be unemployed

Oh I’d love to hear your opinion on the lack of innovative design! Please show us your flops 😅
