A little stretch here but my guess is that the sixth form is more bulkier overall, then when Cooler reverterd to his fourth it gaves the necessary space to move and free himself from the cocoon, also Majin Buu being distracted fighting with the Z Warriors helped him to pass unnoticed. After all the procesd to absorbed is not quick as we see when Buu try to capture Goku and Vegeta
