I like to stay up on the latest versions of HW and SW of devices I own, but at $1400 it made no sense to me since I already have an MK3. I decided to spend less than 1/2 that price and get an open-box Akai Force. Different workflow but it's good to have choices. All that being said, this was a great video. Good review man. I actually left Maschine when the MK3 first came out because it would constantly lockup when opening the Maschine 2 software. I went to MPC live for a little bit, but the workflow of Maschine is just so much better for me (I started with the MK1 back in 09). Anyway, I just got my Maschine+ this week and have been enjoying working in Maschine again. Nice review, very comprehensible. I think the only competitor that is the closest to being equivalent to the Maschine+ is the MK3. That's my opinion, I really don't see the ingenuity it offers except without the use of a computer because, as you said earlier in the video, the value others put into their computer setups, their sound libraries and etc, they're stuck with that. Perhaps, the Maschine+ will give more than it offers now in the near future and I still love my MK3/Mikro. Do you think they should have changed its design to make it look more compelling rather than keeping the same design with a different color or would it not matter?
@DDS8254 жыл бұрын

Great video, thanks! Here’s one thing I’m curious about: what happens when I have an existing Maschine project that uses sounds or synths that aren’t on M+? Let’s say I have a Serum track. Obviously that won’t work when I move the project to M+. But what happens? Does that track (and related MIDI) show up with no instrument? Is there some kind of audio bounce of the track? For new projects going forward, I think I’d really like an M+, and I’m comfortable using just the built-in sounds. But for live performance, I really need those old projects to work as well. At least for playback, if not editing. Can you give any details on how that works? Thanks for all you do, bro!
@AveMcree4 жыл бұрын
It won't appear in your project but the MIDI (events) will!
@DDS8254 жыл бұрын
What I would do is, export the audio in the software and then save it as a sample to the SD card on the M+ and when you load up your project on the plus, put the sample in the place it was for the original project and you should be good as long as you don’t want to edit it.

@phillipwaterman14 жыл бұрын
What do you need processing power on the Maschine +??? its not like you can add the VST plugins or Waves plugins, its useless in that aspect you would just have to transfer it all to your computer anyway to add your 3rd party plugins. If you just literally just want to make a beat away from your computer just to come back to it buy the Maschine +, otherwise stick with your MK3 or Mikro, save yourself the money until they make the Maschine + touch screen! maybe be worth it then, just buy something else your studio need with the money I take my laptop and Mikro everywhere and have all the processing power and portability and battery I need to be honest.

Just got my Maschine + yesterday. My immediate reaction working with it is that it's super glitchy. Maybe that's just mine or maybe can be fixed with an update. Compared to my MPC Live though, it feels like the Maschine processing power gets ate up fast with just a few plugins running. Love Maschine workflow, but it just doesn't feel as responsive as my MPC Live. For example, I don't quantize anything and my MPC Live just is spot on when I record. I find myself going over and over again on Maschine + just to nail the recording without having to Quantize it or go back in a do editing. I feel torn. I really want to love the Maschine + for the workflow but there are some serious issues that need to be addressed.

Since I had to send mine back because it wouldn't connect to wifi, I have another one coming. Just wondering once you activate it through wifi, can you download expansions and load them without wifi? Or are you just locked into wifi for any downloads from machine, even updates? Would suck if I have to go to his crib for updates and expansion downloads.

@@DDS825 I hear you. Computer provides a more stable internet connection. I just got the machine like 20 minutes ago. Now my machine is sitting in the living room pretty much touching the router and downloading expansions. I Work from home, my internet is good, has to be. But the machine+ couldn't keep a stable connection in another room, it connected then gave me the " connection lost screen". Native Access doesn't have this issue with my stable Computer connection. So its not crazy to go old school and plug it into a computer as a backup. Remember, I had to return one because it wouldn't connect to wifi, what if I could have plugged it into Native access.
