Its funny coming back and watching this 3 years later. Also 3 years into my own leatherwork and now on the verge of a full time business. Stitching in a variety of this style is now 2nd nature and i giggle at remembering thinking it was a challenge. Now i can get slant on either side, both sides, flat along with a miriad of different joint stitches without even thinking about what im doing.

I have watched so many of these videos for people just starting sewing leather, and you are the only one who has answered these questions! Saves us a lot of time and money doing trial and error. I loved seeing your stitching pony progression. I much prefer the idea of making my own instead of buying.

That was so good, SO good. I bought some punches but was such a failure at punching that I bought a (small) number 4 needle for my stitching awl, drew a straight line front and back, and just sewed it that way. It was a leather vest and I marked and sewed the seam on the "inside". It looks decent. But I wondered what I would now do with those two sets of punches I'd purchased. Great video. Regarding taking the pronged chisel out of the leather, I just saw a video where a guy had a little block of beeswax he would stick the prongs into before every punch or two, he said it makes it much easier to take out. I'm a total beginner and haven't tried it so I'm not sure.

On point as always. Thank you for the tips, specifically on punching around corners (not square. I agree, looks bad) and T-Pockets. I’m very new to this and your videos are a huge help. Not only in techniques but in inspiration as well. Have you ever considered doing a tutorial on making patterns? Anyway, thanks again!

Thanks!!!! I have “considered” a pattern video, because I love design more than leather. Lol. But I don’t share nor sell my designs yet
