This has has good meaning to it. Casey left the comfort of his home in Texas years ago when a major Hurricane struck parts of the state. He went and sacrificed to help save people and wrote this beautiful song about the emotional experience.

I’ve been to Flying Colors concert yesterday at Ventura, and when they played this song, I suddenly burst into tears without knowing why. Well, I am suffering from depression and having real hard time getting over it; I failed to get married, couldn’t teach students anymore due to panic attack, and currently am taking one year off from my job (teacher). I felt like I am just randomly thrown into the world all alone... However, wow, there were these guys who keep singing to me ‘You are not alone.’ Now I know I am not alone and there are so many people who are willing to take care of me. Thanks, Flying Colors. It was way worth coming all the way from Korea to see you guys.

@@wanderlust9081 OMG thanks for the concern. It’s been five years, so let me share what have been done. I got married. With the girl I had originally been supposed to get married with. I returned to the school, and could teach students as before. There HAVE BEEN panic attacks, no wonder, but I got used to it and I can live my life with it. I am not alone. Yeah, I am not alone. It was just a title of a song, but I kept repeating it to myself, and I got over it. And now I am full of wonder that, even five years has passed, there are people who cares others that they have never met. If this is not wonderful, what is? Thanks @wanderlust9081. Right?! There have been some great interviews he's done, talking about his part-writing process. As he's usually last to track his official parts, he'll lay a straight 8th note, root note-based line down as a temp for everyone else. Then he'll ask himself, "what does the song need? Where are the holes?" For something like Mask Machine, "it didn't need more than that, so I actually just play 8th notes thru the whole tune." Incredible maturity & musicianship, for sure!

When Mike said on Z7's show that he fell in love with Casey's voice (leading him to be the frontman of FC) listening to Alpha Rev's "Colder Months", I can see why. The man has a gift for ballads. What a fucking emotional and beautiful interpretation. Aside the legends on each instrument that is the rest of the band, Casey is the man and certainly what makes FC so unique and so special. I have been a Deep Purple fan since 1973, when I heard "Strange kind of woman" for the first time, eight years old. I love what Steve Morse has done with DP since he joined so that's why I got her. As a long time DP fan it hurts me a little bit to say this but this band is as good as DP. Thank you, Steve Morse, for letting great rock'n'roll getting through.

I'm a Purple fan too. And a Dream Theater fan, and have listened to Steve's stuff back from the Dregs, his solo stuff and his time in DP. I am completely fine to say this beats all those other bands albums. The music is almost incomparable. The quality, layers, harmonies.. just the sheer talent these guys together posses and put forth results in just amazing albums every time. Almost glad they are still an under the radar band somehow, it's like keeping the best secret 😄

This is an overwhelmingly powerful song, with dito lyrics. The Nerv, Heart & borderline Sacred feeling it is made of, makes me feel like I've been working outside in a burning hot sun the whole day, to come home and take a loong soothing & relieving shower. It went straight into my soul, my heart. It made me feel like the title says..! One of my most favourite "ballads" of all time. Simply amazing, yet better; Divine!
