Haha that is my natural voice and I own it because I know why my voice is like that. To raise it would be masking or acting. On the flip side, if I hear a girl talking too soft and high I suspect she has been subjected to too many toxic male authority figures. (See “Fundie baby voice”.) Learning why voices are high or low or loud or soft could help you decide when to adjust your voice for character beyond just “male/female”.

Is this possible to do with like an insanely high pitched voice 😭
@seattlevoicelab
@seattlevoicelab 2 ай бұрын
Even if you feel your voice sits very high you can still make a step towards a lower pitch and a darker sound. It is mostly about how dark the sound is and less about how high the pitch is. The larger your instrument is, the darker it will be. To begin this process you can start with a "gug" sound and see how deep and booming you can make it, even on higher pitches!

Do a pitch your comfortable with, then just drop it lower and lower until you get that gravelly vocal fry.
@seattlevoicelab
@seattlevoicelab 2 ай бұрын
To find a pitch you can hum down from a high note to a low note. Then come up a little higher than your lowest note. If you can't make vocal fry then just say "gah" and try to move it back to try to make the sound "gah" sound nice and deep. Then using that deep sound and space, speak one short sentence, like "Hey, whats up?" and slowly add onto that sentence, like a coffee order or something. Small steps, big spaces.
