Afrobeats is a fusion of genres and was formed from Hip-Hop, R&B, House, Dancehall (also influenced by American music), more traditional African musical elements/instruments/language etc, Soca etc. This song is a massive cultural fusion of African based cultures, ranging from America, Africa and the Caribbean. However, to properly contextualize it, "Afrobeats" (called hiplife in Ghana) began in Ghana. Nigeria picked up Highlife and it became very popular in the country, fast forward to the 90s, highlife becomes hiplife, a fusion of American and Ghanaian culture that then becomes "afrobeats" renamed.
