The full Drive & Sound review with the famous Maserati GranTurismo powered by a naturally aspirated V8 delivering 405 hp and 460 Nm of torque. This particular car was provided by www.ecc-rent.de in Weiterstadt (Germany), so special thanks go to You guys! Although I was skeptical at first about the sportiness of this car, the very loud Sound was something I didn't expect this way....mind-blowing! This car additionally has the active valve exhaust from the GranTurismo S fitted underneath which can be activated by a remote/button inside. Of course, its not a racer but the weight and the fact that is has no Turbos quickly explain the rather moderate performance. Im sure thats what maserati owners tell themselves so they could live with the fact they bought an underpowered, ancient interior and ancient technological car for 100,000+$ which depriciates for 50% in 2 years. Dont get me wrong it is a gorgeous car with a timeless design, but its a shame that maserati updates nothing and is years behind competition but is ballsy enough to still ask money that in 2020 can get you 70% of market cars.

The Maserati in this video is not a 4.2L with 405hp, but a Granturismo S 4.7L with 440hp. The exhaust sound and also the exhaust pipes are incredibly different between a 4.2L and a 4.7L. The 4.2 have 4 exhaust pipe (2 on each side), instead di 4.7 have only 2 pipes.

You're not quite correct - the 4.7 S does have 4 exhaust tips coming from two rear boxes - one on each side. I should know - I have one 😆 In the video you can clearly see GranTurismo S on the passenger side of the dashboard so I'm wondering if, maybe the exhaust was changed (the 4.2 had the larger, single exhaust tips).

Das rote Interieur gefällt mir nicht, da es mich zu sehr ans Rotlichtviertel erinnert. Ist das Lenkrad klebrig, weil sich der vorherige Fahrer nicht die Finger gewaschen hat oder weshalb muss man bei diesem Maserati (ist ja nicht mal ein S) Handschuhe tragen? This is the Granturismo S, 4.7 440hp... the exhaust show you the difference. 4 tubic exhaust (2x2) is the 4.2 405hp, 2 oval exhaust 4.7. i can't believe how many peoples in youtube can't get this simple fact right. and the huge difference between these 2 models is the sound.. worst, when you see the POV view, on the right you can read GranturismoS..

+Snip Lolilom It's actually a Gran Turismo with the 4.2 liter engine. What they have done is they fitted the S-Exhaust underneath and put the badges of the Gran Truismo S on. From design and sound it really looks like an "S" but from the performance you realize its only the 4.2.

+BMW M3 S65B40 Well, we are looking at a car that is not only 7 years on the market but also has 100k km on the clock. Of course a modern DCT or the ZF 8-speed like in the Jaguar F-Type has a lot quicker gear shifts than this. Despite those facts I still found the 6-speed in this car to be very precise in shifting, and the delay between paddles and gear change was also pretty reliable.
