Maserati MC12 Corsa ride on public roads

On my first day in Pebble Beach I saw a blue Maserati MC12 Corsa cruising down the road which was incredible to see. I had a chance to chat with the owner of the car and somehow found myself in the passenger seat of the car the next day driving on public roads! The MC12 Corsa is a full racing version of the ultra rare Maserati MC12 which makes the MC12 Corsa practically a unicorn. Only 12 MC12 Corsas were ever built and this car is chassis number 02. These cars are built for the race track, they are built to be driven full throttle all the time pretty much. I bet the car and the clutch will last longer if it will be driven on the limit all the time.

Was this car actually used to race for Maserati, and they sold it after that? Or did Maserati sell the racing version straight to customers as like a track focused version of the MC12? I know the MC12 Corsa was used for racing for a number of years, I'm wondering about this particular car in the video.

Speedracer38 How was the owner able to register it for US roads? It's not below 1997, and it has no airbags (thus you can't pull off a Land Rover Defender trick). Plus, the car was intended for track usage only. I'm seeing a bit on how a few models were road legal in Europe though.

jack lutz, i know what you're talking about and this is indeed the same mc12 corsa. the car was at lake forest sportscars from 2007 until 2012. whether it was for sale throughout all those years -- i am not sure; but it was purchased in 2012 by its new owner. go ahead and give them a call if you are still in doubt. have a nice day.

Love that car, my favorite one to use in GTR2. Now that I'm able to see one being driven, it's amazing how much the game sounds like the real thing. I don't think I'd want to drive that on public roads, though. Too nerve wracking, and it looks to be as wide as an XJ220 or Murcielago, maybe more so. Can anybody confirm?

Track Ready Road Legal Extremely Rare Supercar... Goes 40mph on street... Its a shame owners in the US have many nice rides and cant get past 70 on highway... Last time i checked, those cars were made for speed... But they're going same speed as the falling-in-pieces Vauxhal astra in the next lane Mexico isn't so safe... But i bet you, you can put 180mph on straights, curves and mountain roads and no cop will follow you, in the very rare situation they catch your ass, 20 bucks and you're good to go That's what i do, once you get an Audi R8 V10 its time to exploit all that money you spent on it... Not to be driven like your old VW passat...

The "Tablet" instrument on the steering-wheel, is a very very bad place for it, when you drive a curve you see nothing!! Very nice car, with a big mistake!! nobody needs a tablet informations board on a steering-wheel!!!

clearly not made for the street no wonder why he wants to sell it. not only is the visibility horrendous but the cars far too long, too low and too wide and the suspension looks way to stiff, seems like a fun concept to drive a race car on the street but in reality im sure its really stressful and nerve-racking experience , maybe at the dead of night when theres no other cars on the street and you have the roadway all to yourself.

Driver probably needs to go take some driving lessons and should not be behind the wheel of a 2.5 mill car ruining a 250K clutch like that. Show some respect for engineering people. Whoever let you him drive that is probably missing a few screws. Lucky that you were able to ride along though.

This car does not have a clutch. Its an auto with paddle shifters that was litteraly designed for racing. The drivetrain of this car was purely made to get beaten racing it hard. Driving it on the street makes it almost stall out like that cause ita not going fast. This is a true fast only car lol
