An honest car and review. I don't like SUV and I never look for Leapmotor or it's cars, well until now. Seems that China's fittest market it's going to broke the worldwide market, cheaper, tougher, more quality, better specs. The only dilemas are customer support and parts, and the cicle of life of the cars. I got Xiaomi, Poco, Lenovo and I apreciate them more than Apple, Samsung, or Asus. Good products at a fair price, hope they come to Europe.

The problem is the European price will be above 25.000€ (most likely even more than 30.000€)... and this is why all Chinese cars fail in Europe. You want to come into a new market, with no service network and unknown long term quality, you should selling a huge amount cheaper than the quality proven home brands... At least 20-30%
@woohuk094 ай бұрын
@@KookyBoneFirst, if you investigate preciously, the C10 is much better than ID4. For sure I will buy it even the same or higher price. And Stellantis will solve the network and support. Second, C10, like another Chinese EV, could be cheaper, then the insane Europe parliament increases more than 20% tariff for them. You should blame the correct persons and org.

@@woohuk09 I don't know where you got your data from... But here in Germany the ID.4 is charging faster, has much more range, and more power... And German manufacturers now how to build silent and comfortable driving cars with reliability... Chinese cars are just copying German manufacturing because of forced joint ventures and now are adding the half baked tech stuff to it... No thanks, not need any communist surveillance tech in my cars. And the prices are made long before any tariffs are even discussed.... They are not even started yet. Chinese companies will flop in Europe, believe me. In fact, they do already... Xpeng, GWM and BYD flopping hard already... And the only selling a bit, MG has just been voted as most unreliable car brand.

Imagine what european can buy for 16.5k euro inside the european soil. This C10 is highly competitive. So I wish the european lawmakers to turn off the unreasonable tariff barrier and do something for their own taxpayers so that they can buy nice and affordable cars which will make lives better. As always, thanks good review!

Look at the prices of Chinese cars before the EU introduced tariffs, they were already 2-3x the Chinese price. Tariffs reduce Chinese profit, it's not really fair, it's protectionist, but it kind of makes sense.

Great review and what an incredible car, never mind the price. If the rear seats were on rails, that would make it very versatile ( Stellantis have this). The cockpit is very nice, but could do with a point of focus, like a nice clock in the dash or similar detail. The only thing i don't like are the wheels, they are a bit busy compared to the car.

I love your video! Thanks a lot for introducing the Leapmotor C10 and I am really anxious to see it in Europe. We have an Aiways U5 in our testfleet which is pushing 100'000 km, is four years old and is generally doing quite well. Nevertheless, there are only very few Aiways driving in Switzerland, due to little popularity of the brand, the risk of buying from a start-up, lack of (stellantis - style) distribution partners and more. I wonder, if you have tested the vehicle too and if you know more about its reliability and long term perspectives of the company behind it. I'll be happy to learn more from you. Best regards, Martin

I live in Australia and i'd love Chinese brands to bring 'Chinese spec' cars here. A lot of family and friends are tall and need extra leg room in the second row. A big boot is rarely used. Also, I am so tired of brands focusing on handing instead of ride quality. Who needs handing when we are driving to work and back in traffic? I'd rather relax and let the car soak up our poor roads here.

Ironically, the problem for Europe and other parts of the world is not the cars but the manufacturing and exporting. Chinese companies need to setup factories on foreign soil to truly conquer the international car market
@MessiahJin3 ай бұрын
In fact, the price advantage of Chinese cars largely comes from China's very complete, fiercely competitive, highly automated, and obviously price-advantaged electric vehicle industry chain. In China, developing and producing electric vehicles is as easy as assembling a computer. Therefore, the vast majority of manufacturers would rather spend high taxes and freight to produce in China rather than in Europe. Even some European and American car companies have begun to let their Chinese divisions take the lead in the development and production of electric vehicles and export them around the world, such as Tesla Shanghai, BMW, and General Motors.
@rushja3 ай бұрын
@@MessiahJin Yes China has the supply chain. Governments need to make money on the cars. If it stays as it is high import taxes are here to stay and we the consumers will pay more. I think eventually some Chinese factories will appear in the US and Europe, like the Japanese did in the 90s
@nameberry2204 ай бұрын
Hi from EU, I would rather more space in the rear seat than the boot! It would have been nice to hear about the battery chemistry, lifespan, charging specs, whether the cars has a heat pump etc. Also Chinese cars are not expensive in EU because of the tariffs, they were expensive before the tariffs. Chinese automakers will extract as much profit as possible, that's why their prices were already 2-3x more before tariffs. In this situation tariffs actually benefit the consumer, even though it isn't fair to the excellent Chinese automakers. German automakers do the same, you can find the same car sold in Germany sold elsewhere for 10-20% less.
@woohuk094 ай бұрын
Before the new tariff, there was 10% tariff already. And obviously it needs shipping cost, custom test, local distributor profit etc. Ironically you could find Chinese EVs in Norway are cheaper than the price in China even due to different regulation. So your conclusion is incorrect clearly.

While you're mentioning the PU-leather: chinese brands seem to love it! Some brands already have entered the european market and whenever i see a BYD, NIO, XPeng, Wey, MG, BAIC or even a dirt cheap Dayun they are all equipped with this same faux leather and almost all of them have the same chemical rubbery smell. They all should abandon this material and give at least the option for nice cloth or real leather.

China has an extremely advanced, complete and highly automated electric vehicle industry chain. Whether it is batteries, electronic controls, motors or thermal management systems, Chinese products have the highest output and the most advantageous costs in the world. While Europe and the United States were still obsessed with fuel vehicles, China took the initiative to introduce Tesla and established a large number of supply chain companies. Today, China's electric vehicle industry, which has been developing at full speed for more than ten years, has the most complete and most cost-effective electric vehicle industry chain in the world. All this may stem from a prediction of the future of the automobile industry by China's decision-makers more than ten years ago, or it may be due to China's analysis of the pros and cons of its own energy structure (China's power resources are very abundant and surplus, and the electricity price per kWH is only Approximately 0.038 euros), no matter what the reason is, due to the advance development of China's electric vehicle industry, it is difficult for any car company to abandon the Chinese supply chain to produce competitive electric vehicles.

Does it have independent rear suspension?
@MessiahJin3 ай бұрын
Of course, It has MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear. In fact, many people in China even think that cars under 20,000 euros should be able to use double wishbone suspension.BTW, Chinese EV cars exceeding 14,000 euros almost never use torsion beams.

the only thing that gives me pause about getting it is that it has extremely limited boot space for a family SUV (~370L) as opposed to BMW x3 (550L) for example. For the size, that feels way low. The Kia Niro EV, which is barely a SUV (more of a crossover) has 470L and it's slightly smaller.
