A Triumph of Christmas Spirit in a Kentucky Jail | Mashable Docs

The holidays can be a rough time of year for inmates and their families. In Louisville, Ky., jail officials have developed their own tradition to try to muster up some holiday cheer. Every December, teams of inmates spend a week decking out their jail dorms with homemade trimmings in an annual Christmas decorating contest. Working with The Marshall Project, a nonprofit news organization that focuses on criminal justice, Mashable followed some of the jail’s inmates, many of them addicts, as they told the stories behind their incarceration while joining forces to try to win the competition.

I think everyone deserves Christmas even if they have made mistakes to land them in jail they are still human we’ve all made mistakes homeless people deserve Christmas everyone deserves to celebrate it

I know the holidays for the medical floor 2 in LMDC were dismal- my son is being held there and has recvd no mail no christmas kindness and has been without additional clothing to change into- i have complaints filed with John Thorpe Jail inspector for LMDC-

God is real despite the wrong these people committed they are serving thier time and living with it thier whole lives beyond a " jail time out"...i believe in god just not in a bible but...it doesnt take common sense to realize we all need to show compassion and humanity towards them deapite a crime.they need help and we need to step in and help each other to build a better society..dont throw away a soul and lock it away with a key..its so sad and this is not what we are put on earth to do.PLEASE SUPPORT OUR INMATES: LET THEM GET THE HELP THEY NEED MEDICALLY,MENTALLY,EMOTIONALLY...THEN BE A JUDGE when they can give back to society in a positive way
