I use bamboo skewers. Skewers are closest thing to dowels. You can get them in big packs in the kitchen section of stores.
@jameswarden5312 Жыл бұрын
I've never tried making a wall hanging before, only alpha bracelets, and I'm surprised at how easy it looks to knot onto the dowels! I was worried it would be difficult and never tried. Now I can make something for my mom's birthday :) Very good tutorial!

OMG YESS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! I wanted to make my friend one for her birthday and I didn't knoe how! THANK YOU! ❤ Also I have a question, I am still kind of confused on what to do if the number of strings is even
@sandycheeks65513 жыл бұрын
for example, if the base strings is 32 you would divede it be 2 (32/2=16) so you will cut 16 strings that are DOUBLE the length of the wall hanging and then you just attach them to the stick using the larks head knot
@Sunset_Stars3 жыл бұрын
@@sandycheeks6551 Ohh but what about the leading string, wouldnt that make them 33 strings in total
@sandycheeks65513 жыл бұрын
@@Sunset_Stars you can just tie it onto the stick and weave it into the back later
@laramelio80583 жыл бұрын
@@Sunset_Stars You could either just knot the basestring to the dowel with a double knot, but you will see the end of the leading string sticking out. Or you could double 1 of the basestring. So instead of making a knot on 1 basestring, you make a knot on 2 basestring. This way you won't be able to see the end of the leading string.

maybe you were tying your knots too tight. i havent made a wall hanging yet, i notice that when i tye my knots tight in alphas, it seems to curl. so it may help if youloosen your knots @Audrey Nonte

Okay, you’ve probably already figured it out, but it says 45 because it’s including the leading string! There are 44 base strings + 1 leading string
