I'll say that the demands for quick service are unreasonable. There should be a separate area in the fry bin for unsalted fries. No one should be throwing away a food container just for one order!! Just serve them up in med sleeves and then clean the bin.

This worst part about it day in and day out would have to be the smell. I would never be able to eat fast food if I worked at a fast food joint. The smell would get to the point of being repulsive.

I would think every job at McDonalds has to be bad and all fast food for that matter, you got the worst of the worst eating there. A bunch of low class people thinking they are better than the workers there and then causing a scene when they forgot not to put pickles or add extra sauce. Everyone gets so picky and wants to customize the entire menu as if this is some fine dining experience WTF. It's called fast food for a reason and if you don't like what's on the menu, go somewhere else and stop blaming them for not being healthy.

I try to remain polite, patient, and friendly even in places that are typically slow, irritating, do not pay attention to what you are saying, if the food isn't as good as it used to be, etc., etc., etc. I try to always put myself in their place or just remember that while I may be in the middle of a bad day, you never know what THEIR day is like and what they may be going through that day also - and adding my personal stress to theirs is not going to make MY day any better, get my food any faster, resolve an issue, or accomplish what I need to do any faster! I guess this has an effect on the aura or something, because as a result, I have found that workers are generally polite with me as well - and that is true whether inside or even at the drive thru and also applies in the line at the Post Office and inside the Bank or in the Bank drive thru. I am frequently called Dear, Sweetie, Sweetheart, Hon, or Honey - often enough that it really makes my day and all the holding back on the irritation or impatience is SOOO 💯% worth it! 🥰 MAYBE when it comes to McDonald's - and other businesses - we should just remind ourselves when we are dealing with these workers to be saying to ourselves regarding that person, "YOU Deserve a Break Today..." 👍👏❣️👑🌞🎈💐 😊😊

It's been awhile since I worked there (2003-06) but I enjoyed working the fry station, it was a nice break from customers. But holy hell it could be torture if you had any level of sunburn because of the UV lights.😊

The worst for me was working the ovens at a pizza joint, we had a pizza maker that would hand them over to me but I had to stand in front of a 600+ degree oven for an entire shift making sure that every pizza came out on time and matching each pizza to the ticket. I'd rather be in the dish pit

When I worked there in High School, my least favourite was delivery day. You spend your entire shift standing in a freezer, reorganizing all the product so you can put new stuff in. Its cold, cramped, and just all around sucked.

Trying to make small talk while waiting on the food is the worst thing about presenting in my experience. Making fries is mostly okay though. can get annoying though. most ppl I serve are lovely though as well. The lobby can get a bit dull and frustrating. but it must be done.

There are many jobs at McDonald’s that suck, one in particular is unloading the delivery truck and restocking the shelves, fridge, and freezer. That’s a real labor intensive job that quite often is relegated to a select handful of workers and unfortunately they usually don’t get any extra compensation for the back breaking job of waking up for 4am and unloading between 350 and 500 items and lifting as much as 40 pound boxes and crates. It might not be so bad if they are paid extra for the job but most are not.

I can tell you the truth about the Ice Cream Machines. It's not that they are hard to clean or always down to be cleaned (sometimes it is true), but it's because the manufacturer makes it impossible to get it fixed and makes them in such a way that they will break easily and force you to call a technician. Instead of just getting new machines that are not cheap garbage and getting scammed for maintenance costs, they choose to continue and trip over their own feet.

I used to clean bathrooms and the location I worked at always had used needles, poop on the wall and the toilet being clogged by poop and tons of toilet paper. Hated cleaning bathroom

Worst McDonalds job is changing the fry oil. You have to drain it, dispose, clean the greasy vats, refill, and heat. This was in the 1970’s when they used beef tallow. I came in at 4:00 AM, but got to leave at noon.

I think they need to have a way to either clean the fries bin to get rid of excess salt in between so many loads of fries or find some way to ensure the right amount of salt is used. Too many times I have gotten really salty fries that I would wipe each fry with a napkin before eating and have a pile of salt leftover in my tray. 😖

The worst position at McDonald's is being at a store with stupid employees. Once I placed an order and paid with a $2 bill and a few singles. The cashier called the shift manager over and then made some excuse about my order being "lost" somehow and asking me to step aside for a bit. In a few minutes the local police showed up because the employees thought I was trying to give them a counterfeit bill (the $2 one). The police officer rolled his eyes at me, then chewed them both out for wasting his time for not knowing that a $2 bill is real. I barely got an apology from the employees, got my food and left. A word of advice to other viewers,...never try to spend a $2 bill at McDonald's. [Wink.] JMO.
