I heard this song for the first time today. Though I couldn't understand the words, it brought tears to my eyes. I think that it's so incredibly beautiful how music can be understood in this way and transcend language. The sound and the spirit behind the music translates itself into feelings for the listener. After looking at the translated lyrics, I realized that this process definitely happened to me.

Last time I went to the Ethnic Dance Festival a woman danced to a Erhu sound track, Chinese two stringed instrument. It knocked me out and once again, almost cried hearing the music. And I'm not a guy who usually reacts this way. Music can transform.....we are so lucky.

If you get the chance to make the trip to Beirut, do not pass it up, you would be so disappointed! It is a beautiful city, the people are wonderful! Although I haven't yet found an exact English translation for the lyrics - and really wish I could "hear" the song for all it is that way, the singer still gets it across. And knowing that the song is about a love that can never be, and the one lyric I do know: "Smell the jasmine.. /.. And remember to forget me"? Heartbreaking. Talented musicians!! Wishing them all continued success!
@sandykamel12116 жыл бұрын
LightningStrikes2ys jasmine is often planted at the entrances of homes so you smell it as you enter . Taste Molasses and tahini are a common breakfast staple. I think the opener of the song revolves around nostalgia... the scent of coming home... the habits of everyday.. The way you remember things in your youth. He then goes on to say remember remember remember and segways into remember to remember me. Say you'll never forget me.. Oh my love... oh my destiny or share in that destiny... I would have liked to keep you near... this is used to mean physically and emotionally. I'd have liked to introduce you to my family.. and have you cause me every day heartache and annoyance associated with being in a long term relationship. I'd have liked to cook your favorite foods and clean your house and spoil your children... and be the lady of your house... the word is used interchangeably with the word house wife. But... you're in your home and I'm in another and I'm telling you I wish you'd never left... The jasmine..... forget me!! The jasmine..... Smell the jasmine... remember to forget me...
