I like the sheikh, but he makes a mistake in his recitation. When doing madd in surah fatiha, he does a lot of ups and downs, but it’s supposed to be one continuous sound. ln the way he recites it, it’s like adding extra of that letter to the Quran

@@abubakrislam2308 It is a simple tajweed rule akhi. It is based on the Arabic language. There is a difference between ي with mad and يي or يّ. Some reciters pronounce the madd as if there are multiple يs. When it is just one ي that is prolonged. Hope this makes sense. You can look up Sheikh AlUsaymi he is a well known scholar and explains this nicely. Barak Allah feek.

A kind reminder that people like Yahya Raaby and others like him who are involved in dawah are daeaat but are not ulama. Some of them who studied for example at Madinah University are tulaab ilm/students of knowledge. May Allah reward them for spreading Islam in English, but real scholars are people like Usaymi, bin Baz, Luhaydan and bin Uthaymeen. Their lectures are now available with translated subtitles.

@@c4sprwheredyougo Walaikom alsalam warahmatullahi wabarakatu. Tajweed should take priority over beautifying the voice. Anyway, he does not do this kind of mistake at other times when there also is madd, and his voice still is very pleasing. I've heard him do this quite a few times and like I said, he is reading it as if there are repeats of the letter instead of only madd. It's good to raise awareness of proper tajweed.
