Dylan, good demo on sky replacement and multiple masking-thanks. Confused at 9:45 masking where you Pasted mask, Preset > Linear Top, manually rotated mask 180°. I noticed then the Preset corrected itself to "None." So you didn't mean to set the Preset to Linear Top, or you rotated because setting it to Linear Top was a mistake, or you did need to do each of those steps? Masks are always confusing in their definition: Masking in or masking out? Linear Top means your adjustments WILL affect the top or WILL NOT affect the top? Seems like with these Linear/gradient mask control lines, if you don't enter mask View you can't tell what is getting the filter adjustment and what's not. Your demo got the techniques across, however, and I can work through the detail given more time. The 2nd image edit was totally clear all the way through and I appreciate the tips, thank you.

Dylan, I had a base flower picture, added a background layer I shot, put it over the full flower picture, then erased out the background over the flower so it would show through and it was beautiful. Then I highlighted both layers and right clicked on the top layer (background layer) and hit new stamped layer and the"new stamp layer"was the background picture without the flower painted out of the background layer. I tried merging visible and again no flower image showing through the background layer. Please, please help !

What was this error 256 when opening file?

Bug. I get the same error sometimes, second try is ok. Same kind of problem when opening a jpeg photo; at first the icon that tells you that it is a unsupported format, on second try ok . Happens with the last 2020 update on my mac.

Perhaps next time it would be sensible not to use a black cursor on a black background. Certainly makes it tricky to see what tools you use for editing.
