Hello from Munich, Germany !!!😁👋
It is my first trip after those crazy stories about the virus, and the first case discovered in Dubai !
And the video is mostly about the masks shopping in both DUBAI and Germany! Dubai ran out of all types of masks, and I managed to find two different boxes, which I will show you in the video! I managed to find another two boxes of different kind here in Germany too 🥰
In total we share 140 masks with my boyfriend and sister, as all of us stay in Dubai!
Please tell me how you take care of yourself, can you see people wearing masks around you? Do you wear it?

I can still remember the SARS-crisis back in 2002. I was a flight attendant at that time and it was pretty funny to see the whole crew, disembarking in HKG, wearing facemasks...lol. It was one of my best layovers I can remember. Because our airline, Lufthansa, decided to just fly to HKG once a week, instead of a daily service, that meant a whole week off in HKG! Actually I was not worried at all. Any ordinary flu season is much more risky in Germany. And it also was a very cheap layover. Many shopowners were pretty desperate because of lack of customers and lowered their prices. Almost no tourists and no business travellers, at all. I got an IWC-watch for wholesale price! A facemask will not protect you, just minimizing the risk of an infection very little. You can easily catch a virus through the mucous membrane of your eyes. So, if you want to protect yourself, you would also have to wear protective goggles. And I don´t think that this would look pretty on you....lol.! I think we should take the situation serious, but objectively and relaxed. Always happy landings!

@@MariaSoldatovaskyflygirl I actually requested for that trip, because back then only a few crewmembers wanted to go to the 'SARS-Capital' and many didn't want to be away from home for a whole week. You are right: I also didn't care how the mask looked on me. And I used a lot of hand-sanitizer besides washing the hands very often. And don't touch your face with your fingers! Always happy landings!

We have worn masks all summer in AUSTRALIA due to the bushfires. Even where I live and work on the coastline along the beach, thick, heavy smoke. XX

I'd like to know if you , flight attendants, wear masks during the flight, and how you protect yourselves, how things have changed after 3 weeks, when there are more cases of the virus around the world. DO NOT reuse mask, I saw something that said , that reusing mask basically makes the whole main/ original purpose useless....... Especially..... if you do happen to come across someone who has the virus... you’ll need all the protection possible, and a used mask will not be of much help

Be careful Maria. Wash your hands frequently, and try and avoid touching your eyes or nose. As cabin crew you can easily come into contact with a lot of people. Someone on the EK450 flight from Bali to Auckland had corona virus and now they are trying to contact passengers and crew. Those surgical masks may not help too much, I think they are more to prevent a person from spreading their own germs. If you feel you need to wear a mask, you had better wear the N95 masks. Prices are going crazy for those masks at the moment, so if you can get some cheap better stock up ! The masks need to be properly sized though, the FFP2 masks you had were too big for your face. From what I've read it is OK to reuse the masks, just be careful how you handle and store them. Of course if the mask gets contaminated or damaged, you will need to replace it. Luckily you are young and healthy so in all likelihood your body would fight off the corona virus. The problem with the N95 masks is that they can get hot and it is hard to breath so people loosen them or take them off, that is one reason the virus spread quickly on the cruise ship in Japan. People were supposed to be quarantined but people didn't follow quarantine procedures strictly. Recent data from China showed that medical staff who wore the N95 masks didn't get infected, but earlier in the outbreak where no masks were worn, lots of staff got infected. Stay safe Maria !

I live in Brisbane Australia. I saw no one wearing masks including myself, even though there are a few cases of people confirmed or have potentially caught the virus. This scares me, but no one seems to be overly concerned about it. But it is definitely on people’s minds, you can hear it in their conversations. I think we need to take it more seriously

Buy a 3M half face reusable respirator that is designed for industrial use like the 3m 6500, then get the N95 filters. You will look like darth vader, but in the event of a massive outbreak you can stay safe !
