OMG, I am a born & bred Aussie but never really been into footy. My brothers played but it was all too sporty for me. For some obscure reason, I have lately been fascinated by the story of Mason Cox. How someone can come from a background where they didn't even know what this sport was, to playing at the highest level jus really fascinates me. And now, this vid about he came so close to losing his sight forever due to injuries received in the game, was just emotional beyond belief. Mason, mate, my highest respect to you and my very best wishes for a full recovery.

I love how Big Cox is sounding more Aussie these days than a Texan

Eddie McGuire rips into my team Port Adelaide, but I would welcome him to Port anytime he wanted! He wears his heart on his sleeve, working class background, and loves his footy club with a passion!

My daughter was alone in Melbourne at the same time Mason had detached retina’s. Hers detached 3 times and because it was just one eye she could only sleep on one side for two weeks. So she went blind for two weeks three times. They already told her it will happen to her other eye and they are sorry because it only happens to elderly people. It was the start of Covid so we were locked inside QLD for two years and we couldn’t get to her. She was lucky her big sister lived in Victoria and she got her to all surgeries and Specialist visits. She wasn’t as lucky as Mason. They couldn’t save her Retina so she was given a new lense in her eye but she knows what he went though. I have always loved that Mason was a Pie and he never gave up. I used to call him our American Pie. Can’t now, I was told he is now an Aussie Citizen.
