Oh god that was crazy uncomfortable to watch . I play the opposite side . Is that masons strong side to play guard. One of my favorite sweeps though . Very powerful, lapel guard, wrestle up for the single and complete the takedown

what makes earn an advantage to the white athlete at min 4:16? it should be no advantage or points for the white, i even thought about an advantag for the black gi athlete for the guard pass but that's debatable, but for sure no advantage for the white gi guy. there was no sweep at any point, the butt never touched the mat EDIT: there is a frame at 4:24 where the butt almost touches the mat, maybe it does. if so, then the advantage is correct.

Probably takedown

Disengagement penalty, he stood up and backed away from guard
@MistaJayLJ11 ай бұрын
because he was legitimately threatened by the sweep and had to fight to prevent it - hence the advantage
@nathanvenen7 ай бұрын
@@MistaJayLJ we can also say that Gomes passed the guard for a milisecond so no sweep attempt for Fowler when no guard. I also thought that Gomes should get adv but. It is one of those situations when you cant say the referee was wrong because looks like fowler had lapel grip before the pass so maybe he let the guard go so he can sweep. Referee saw from the better side so let say it was ok decision.
